From the headline, it was clear what Grynbaum's angle would be: “Fox Wants to Do for TV Weather What It Did for Cable News.”
All three networks Wednesday morning shamelessly used the coronavirus pandemic to push more stringent environmental regulations. Celebrating Earth Day, ABC, NBC and CBS each gave lengthy reports touting how the nationwide lockdown’s “silver lining” was that there was less pollution and more wild animals reclaiming their habitats. But they didn’t just point out changes to our environment; they turned into climate activists, actually encouraging us to keep certain pandemic lifestyle changes, such as not driving cars, to make these climate benefits “permanent.”
Continuing its Extraordinary Earth series pushing the climate change agenda, on Tuesday, ABC’s Good Morning America aired a juvenile report portraying efforts to reduce one’s carbon footprint as a daily struggle between good and evil. The segment urged viewers to listen to their “better angels” on the environment and ignore their “devilish instincts.”
ABC’s morning news program Good Morning America has spent the last few weeks doing a joint-project series with National Geographic on climate change, sending their reporters around the world to lecture Americans on how they’re causing natural disasters and killing off endangered species. On today’s show, ABC reporter Will Reeve traveled to Nicaragua to blame man-made climate change for the dwindling sea turtle population, and volcanoes erupting before making it more personal to the American consumer: Your morning cup of coffee may be the next victim.
Reporting live from Victoria Falls in central Africa for Wednesday’s Good Morning America, ABC’s chief meteorologist Ginger Zee used the spectacular location to lecture American viewers about climate change. It was all part of the network’s new Extraordinary Earth series leading up to the 50th anniversary of Earth Day in April.

The liberal media are so reluctant to give President Trump credit for anything positive his legislation achieves, that they will even keep silent when that legislation directly benefits them.
As Hurricane Irma coverage dominated network news coverage on Monday, it was inevitable that the journalists would embrace climate change during the reporting. Both ABC’s Good Morning America and CBS This Morning suggested that Hurricanes Harvey and Irma prove global warming.

Between Wednesday night and Thursday morning, the broadcast networks of NBC, ABC, and CBS presented several reports on the “massive” and “historic” flooding devastating Louisiana, even comparing storm damage to that suffered during Superstorm Sandy and Hurricane Katrina. However, the one thing missing from the coverage was a single mention of the President of the United States, Barack Obama.
All three networks on Thursday gushed over Barack Obama’s “fancy footwork” and “dancing diplomacy” in Argentina. Two days after a brutal terror attack in Brussels, the President traveled to Buenos Aires for a dinner with the country’s president. Today’s Savannah Guthrie lauded, “Now to that dance making headlines around the world. President Obama doing the tango.” An NBC graphic screamed, “Two to tango!”
In an Associated Press article, a climate alarmist accused a female ABC meteorologist of being “more like a pornographer” than a weather forecaster – all because she didn’t tie weather events to climate change often enough for his liking. According to the article, discussing weather events without throwing in at least some climate change scaremongering is “weather porn.”
The Dec. 12, article, by AP Television Writer David Bauder, promoted this view held by “news consultant” and media analyst Andrew Tyndall. Tyndall called out ABC’s “Good Morning America” meteorologist Ginger Zee specifically, calling her “more like a pornographer.”
On Wednesday, September 17, the House is scheduled to hold a hearing on the latest surrounding the scandal plagued Veterans Administration, specifically questions about the inspector general’s recent report on patient deaths at VA facilities. Despite the new revelations from a VA whistleblower that the VA changed its final report to downplay any connection between patient deaths and long wait times, CBS This Morning was the only network morning show to cover the story on its Wednesday morning broadcast. ABC’s Good Morning America and NBC’s Today ignored the story altogether.
Although all three networks covered Barack Obama's admission on Thursday that "we don't have a strategy" for responding to Islamic militants in Syria, ABC, CBS and NBC journalists were really animated by the President's tan suit. Over on NBC's Today, Dylan Dreyer lectured Twitter on the superficiality of such a topic: "President Obama had a very important press conference. He was talking about all sorts of world issues. So of course social media was focused on those world issues, right? Of course not. They were focused on his tan suit." Dreyer mocked Twitter in the midst of NBC's obsessing about the suit.
Hot-headed climate alarmists continue to make wilder and wilder claims about the effects of global warming, but they often desert the actual evidence.
On June 2, the Environmental Protection Agency unveiled a new plan to restrict carbon emissions in an attempt to combat climate change. This move came less than a month after the White House released a high-profile report fear-mongering over the impacts of climate change, including wild fires and droughts.

Not even a full vote by the House of Representatives to hold Lois Lerner in contempt can shake the networks out of their slumber in covering the IRS scandal. On Wednesday the House voted 231-178 (all Republicans voted yes with six Democrats) to hold Lerner in contempt for refusing to testify about the IRS’s targeting of conservative groups. Total coverage by ABC, CBS and NBC? Just a 15-second brief on Thursday’s edition of ABC’s Good Morning America.
However the Big Three networks did find the 110x more time this week to tout the “dire” and “alarming” findings from the White House climate change report.
