Immigration may rule supreme, but if its twisted coverage of President Joe Biden’s executive order repealing the Mexico City Policy is any indication, Univision holds the rest of the liberal policy platter in high regard and has no compunction in foisting those preferences upon an unsuspecting audience.
Univision, a radical pro-immigration PAC with a broadcast signal and a vested business interest in ensuring the election of presidents that appoint liberal justices to the United States Supreme Court, has already signaled the manner in which they will cover the next nominee to be put forth by President Donald Trump to fill the vacancy created by the passing of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
Univision, a radical immigration advocacy PAC with a broadcast license seeking government permission to become a foreign-owned entity exercising undue influence in our electoral process, deployed the ancient “but he’s a devout Catholic” defense of Joe Biden when faced with an inconvenient set of facts.
As the coronavirus pandemic further strains the nation’s medical capabilities, Univision continues to carry Planned Parenthood’s water, suggesting that abortion is in fact an essential service.
Univision’s coverage of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s dangerous tirade against TWO sitting Associate Justices of the Supreme Court of the United States showcases simultaneous biases by omission and by commission- and abortion is the point of intersection.
Once again Entravision, the nation’s largest Univision affiliate group, is going to bat for Planned Parenthood; this time, over the abortion behemoth’s decision to forego federal funding rather than comply with changes made by the Trump Administration to Title X.
Univision’s Spanish-language newscast was totally silent on both Trump’s Title X regulation on abortion, and Leana Wen’s resignation from Planned Parenthood. Check out the full post to see how anchor Aranxta Loizaga frames Planned Parenthood in a most favorable light by claiming that Trump's new regulation is “Hailed by Religious Conservatives”, and “denounced by medical organizations and women's rights groups”.
The debate over newly-enacted pro-life legislation in various states continues to roil Spanish-language media. On one major national outlet there appears to be no debate, but rather a one-sided monologue. Check out the full post to see two clips from Entravision’s weekly political affairs show Politica Ya (and its prior version, Perspectiva Nacional) that are precisely a year apart, that showcase a strong pro-abortion bias, as voiced here by host and anchor Tsi-Tsi-Ki Félix:
The United States Senate finally held a vote on the Born-Alive Survivors Protection Act. The vote tally fell along mostly partisan lines and ultimately failed. Inexplicably, none of this was reported on any of the leading national Spanish-language newscasts.
Fusion has gone through many iterations and mission shifts over the course of its brief existence as an English-language Univision affiliate. Throughout, however, the network has remained consistent in one aspect: its advocacy for far-left domestic political causes. with its latest paean to Planned Parenthood being but the most recent example.
Univision has demonsrated, yet again, that unfettered access to abortion-on-demand remains high on the network's policy advocacy agenda, second, perhaps, only to immigration. The blatant advocacy was on full dsiplay in recent days, in a series of Univision stories on Planned Parenthood that was perfectly timed to coincide with the PinkOut campaign on behalf of the nation's leading abortion provider, and in opposition to cuts to the organization's federal funding.
Univision never wastes an opportunity to remind us that it has an agenda beyond immigration. The network's coverage of a recent court ruling proves that abortion is also high on Univision's list of pet issues.
Univision's fawning coverage of the Supreme court's ruling in Whole Woman’s Health v. Hellerstedt shows the extent to which the network is both out of touch with its viewership and biased towards a progressive agenda.
Politics is downstream from culture, and telenovela culture is still very much pro-life.
In addition to amnesty, abortion on demand also gets a plug on Univision.
Although there were many instances of bias within Spanish-language news media, these were the worst.
When analyzing news content on the nation’s Hispanic news media, it is helpful to remember that what is not covered is as important as what is covered, if not more so. This week’s papal visit to the United States provides us with another such instance.
And behold, the Center for Medical Progress opened the fifth seal, and thus came forth the most horrific revelations to date in the ongoing Planned Parenthood scandal, with talk of “intact fetal cadavers”, “just another line item” and the most damning admissions of apparent illegality to date. And lo, Univision News has at long last seen fit to come off the sidelines, albeit with entirely predictable coverage.
