AMC’s Preacher is no stranger to controversy obviously, but the worst of the worst usually comes from the original graphic novel. The fact that the show feels confident enough to bring it to screen says more about our society than anything I could type. The latest casualty this week is the Pope.

Hulu’s lascivious drama Harlots debuted its second season last week, and the show picked right back up where it left off last season with grotesque, violent and pornographic depictions of life for prostitutes in 1700s London. Wednesday’s “Episode 3,” the show decides to get more digs in at Christianity and one character’s fall from grace in a particularly offensive scene.

Season Two of Netflix’s original hit show GLOW premiered last Friday with ten episodes to binge on, and the season was thankfully tamer compared to season one. But that’s not saying much considering how season one was one big “f--- you to the Republican party,” and was filled with rampant sex, foul language, abortion and more.

Women’s magazines aren’t just for fashion and makeup anymore. No. They’re also for abortion. On Monday, President Trump announced his pick for new Supreme Court justice: federal judge Brett Kavanaugh. Writers for women’s magazines from Glamour to Teen Vogue immediately produced stories warning about what the nominee could to do to “your abortion rights.”  

One of the left’s biggest weapons is identity politics, and the media will continually ignore facts to keep this weapon functional. This is especially true regarding Christians, whom the media label as bigots and oppressors. They can never be seen as victims and so the media report accordingly.

If it isn’t obvious by now, AMC’s Preacher isn’t a fan of God, Jesus, Christianity, or anything remotely resembling decency. So it comes as no surprise that the show lets out how it feels about the Creator of the universe - verbally and physically. In another less-than-shocking twist, it requires a censor just to talk about.

HBO proudly aired their star Bill Maher doing stand-up in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Saturday night, with a routine centering on mocking President Trump. "Doesn’t everything about this man scream microdick? On Thursday, The New York Times published an op-ed that asked whether the Catholic Church would ever be able to get its progressive act together and shift its stance towards the LGBT community.  

CNN’s The Lead spent almost six minutes on Tuesday discussing the Supreme Court’s ruling on President Trump’s travel ban with Minnesota Democratic Congressman Keith Ellison, but host Jake Tapper turned the tables on Ellison by grilling him for the remaining five minutes on his ties to anti-gay, anti-Semitic, and sexist Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan. 

Monday on Cuomo Primetime, former Republican Senator Rick Santorum called out CNN host Chris Cuomo on his "intellectual dishonesty." Cuomo tried to compare White House Press Secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, being asked to leave the Red Hen restaurant last week to the Masterpiece Cakeshop court case in which a Christian baker refused to specifically bake a wedding cake for a gay couple.

While some of the most notable commands from God are “you shall have no other gods before me” and “you shall not murder,” it seems that evangelical historian John Fea has discovered another divine decree: “thou shalt not vote for Donald Trump.”

AMC’s Preacher is back, and it looks like it’s proceeding right on schedule. Already in the season three premiere, we’re kicking things off with the return of another outrageous and offensive image of God. At this rate, we’ll probably be scraping the bottom of the barrel by the Fourth of July.

Although the entertainment industry often mocks Christianity, it’s applauding a song popular among Christians after one 13-year-old’s performance. On Tuesday night, Jeffrey Li sang a rendition of Josh Groban’s “You Raise Me Up” in an audition for America’s Got Talent.
