The hurt is still quite strong within the sports media, in the wake of the Washington Post poll declaring that 9 out of 10 Native Americans are not offended by the word “Redskin.” This particular episode of sour grapes comes from NBC’s Pro Football Talk, headed-up by Mike Florio, who was one of the first members of the sports media to stop using the word “Redskin.”

On a bit of an anti-business rant, the CBS Person of Interest episode “A More Perfect Union” takes a couple of swipes at free enterprise capitalism and evil, greedy businessmen.

The Huffington Post’s religion “experts” strike again, this time with the claim that transgenders were once considered Islamic royalty. Last week, in a poor effort to justify transgenderism in the eyes of Christians, an article appeared in the Huffington Post claiming that Jesus was the first transgender man. Now the publication is trying to do the same with Islam. 

The media routinely insist on taking rape seriously (think: The Hunting Ground). But an odd hypocrisy arises when entertainment media suddenly praise a “rape comedy.”

In the wake of the #GiveElseAGirlfriend campaign Twitter erupted last night with calls to turn one of  America’s most manly superheroes gay. Many were excited by the idea of #GiveCaptainAmericaABoyfriend, and The Wrap, The Independent, Mirror, E!Online, The Los Angeles Times, and others quickly publicized the trend. 

After nearly eight years in office, President Obama no longer cares if he seems to be trolling the rest of the country. He is. Now, he’s heading to Hiroshima (by way of Vietnam) to push his choom-fueled dorm-room vision of a nuclear-free world. His purpose is shallow and silly. His timing – Memorial Day Weekend – is egregious. And his media coverage is predictably fawning.
