There are new details in the horrific story of the illegal immigrant trucker who is accused of killing three people in Florida due to his making an illegal u-turn.
According to new reporting the driver had failed English and road sign tests.
On August 20, Fox News reported:
The illegal immigrant truck driver who is accused of causing a crash in Fort Pierce, Florida, that killed three people failed English and road sign tests, officials investigating the wreck said.
Harjinder Singh, who crossed into the United States illegally in 2018 via the southern border, obtained a commercial driver’s license in California. He attempted to obtain work authorization, but it was rejected by the first Trump administration on Sept. 14, 2020, according to Tricia McLaughlin, Homeland Security assistant secretary for public affairs.
NewsBusters’s Jorge Bonilla noted that NewsNation jumped on the story on August 17.
Since then Fox News and Newsmax have also covered the tragedy.
ABC, CBS and NBC (so far) have yet to air a single second on it.
This is despite those networks’ proclivity to cover awful traffic incidents, even when no one is killed.
The August 19 editions of ABC’s World News Tonight and NBC Nightly News and August 20 NBC’s Today covered the story of two restaurant influencers having their livestream interrupted by a car crashing into their table.
On August 20, ABC’s Good Morning America, CBS Mornings and NBC’s Today show all covered an explosion at a new veterinary hospital in North Carolina caused by a driver striking a gas line.
So why the broadcast network silence on the illegal immigrant trucker story in Florida, despite the availability of video showing the multi-vehicle crash and fiery aftermath?
Could it be that it further drives the narrative of Democratic-run governments being reckless in their handing out a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) to somebody who was in the states illegally?
As Fox News reported: “According to the DOT, Singh was issued a regular full-term commercial driver’s license in the state of Washington in July 2023, but illegal immigrants are not allowed to obtain this type of license. A year later, Singh was issued a limited-term/non-domiciled commercial driver’s license in California. The DOT is investigating further whether the issuance of that license followed federal regulations.”
The censorship of the Florida crash follows a pattern of the broadcast networks ignoring illegal immigrant crimes.
For this study MRC analysts looked at the broadcast evening (ABC World News Tonight, CBS Evening News, NBC Nightly News) and morning news shows (ABC’s Good Morning America, CBS Mornings, CBS Saturday Morning, CBS Sunday Morning, NBC Today, NBC Sunday Today) from August 17 through the morning of May 21.
