BIDEN BORDER CRISIS: 7 New Illegal Immigrant Crimes ABC, CBS, NBC Are Burying

July 11th, 2024 10:00 AM

The tragic cost of Biden’s border crisis keeps rising as more horrific acts committed by illegal immigrants seem to be happening on an almost daily basis. Senator Ted Cruz encapsulated Americans’ frustration when he posted “Every…damn…day” in response to a July 8 story of an illegal (who had already been deported) allegedly raping a Utah child.

The tragic stories are piling up, but ABC, CBS and NBC have mostly ignored them on their evening, morning and Sunday roundtable shows. NewsBusters examined seven new cases of illegal crimes that occurred in just the last month. The networks refused to mention anything about four of the seven and limited coverage to the other three to brief stories or mentions.

Back in April, when the House sent articles of impeachment to the Senate to try Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, NewsBusters reported on cases of innocent victims killed by illegal immigrants during the Biden administration that ABC, CBS and NBC buried.

In May, NewsBusters looked at eight arrests of illegal immigrants in crimes ranging from sexual assaults to fatal car crashes that have made news in their local communities but went completely unreported by the Big Three (ABC, CBS, NBC) networks.

The following is a look at seven new horrific crimes committed by illegal immigrants that the networks have either quickly brushed by or completely censored:

1. Illegal Immigrant Who Was Previously Deported, Accused of Raping Utah Child

On July 8, TheBlaze.com reported:

An illegal alien with at least one prior deportation from the United States has now been accused of raping a child in Utah.

Around 3 p.m. on July 4, Francisco Lopez-Ramirez, a 42-year-old Mexican national living in the U.S. illegally, was arrested in Provo, Utah. Though almost no details have been reported regarding the allegations against him or the circumstances regarding his arrest, Utah County jail records confirm not only that Lopez-Ramirez was arrested but that he was charged with raping a child and with unlawful sexual activity with a minor believed to be 16 or 17 years old.

Jail records also indicate that ICE has since issued an immigration detainer against him, rendering him “not bailable.” Blaze News reached out to Enforcement and Removal Operations at the ICE field office in Salt Lake City to learn further details about the suspect.

ERO informed us that Lopez-Ramirez has at least one prior arrest from more than a decade ago that resulted in a deportation. On January 31, 2010, he was “discovered living in Utah” after he was arrested for ‘local charges,’ an ERO spokesperson told Blaze News.

The nature of those charges is unclear, but they did result in an immigration detainer. Fewer than two weeks later, an immigration judge ordered Lopez-Ramirez deported back to Mexico, the ERO spokesperson told Blaze News.

At some point since, Lopez-Ramirez must have re-entered the country illegally “without inspection by an immigration official,” as ERO has no record of when or where he may have entered. Once ICE officials learned about his arrest for alleged child rape in Provo on July 4, they issued an immigration detainer for him the same day.

2. Illegal Immigrant Accused of Killing Two Chick-fil-A Employees in Texas, Sneaked Into the US Before

On July 1, the New York Post reported:

The illegal migrant accused of shooting dead two Texas Chick-fil-A workers had previously sneaked past authorities to enter the US illegally, sources told The Post.

Oved Bernardo Mendoza Argueta — a 37-year-old native of El Salvador who is charged with capital murder — told authorities he crossed into the US illegally, but claimed not to know when or where, Homeland Security sources said. He also told authorities he’s married with a child, whom he says is a US citizen.

Mendoza Argueta allegedly opened fire Wednesday at the fast food joint location in the Dallas suburb of Irving before fleeing the scene in a silver 1997 Honda sedan. His wife works at the Chick-fil-A and helped authorities track down Mendoza Argueta, according to FOX 4

The victims of the shooting have since been identified as 31-year-old Brayan Godoy, a father of four from Guatemala, and 49-year-old grandmother Patricia Portillo, FOX 4 reported. Godo’s wife, Elisabeth, told FOX 4 that her husband moved to the area by himself from Guatemala and juggled multiple jobs to support his family back home.

3. Illegal Turkish Immigrant Arrested for Allegedly Raping 15-Year-Old Albany Girl, Was Caught Crossing Border Back in November

On June 27,  the New York Post reported

A migrant from Turkey was charged with raping a 15-year-old girl in Albany — and questions are swirling about why it took cops more than a month to inform the public about the horrific assault.

Sakir Akkan, 21, is accused of attacking the teen inside his car on Arch Street in the state capital in the early hours of May 14 after she ran away from a local group home, according to the Albany Times-Union and court records obtained by The Post.

Akkan — who wasn’t arrested until last week — allegedly told the girl, who was in the passenger seat of his Toyota Prius, that he’d pummel her if she didn’t get into the back, and threatened her with a metal pole, according to the filing. Once she was inside the backseat, he allegedly took the girl’s clothes off and raped her, the filing charges.

The victim lived in a group home close to where the attack unfolded, according to the Times-Union. She suffered scratches on her legs from trying to resist the attack, according to court docs. The teen was cut loose soon after and fled to a nearby residence for help, a police report obtained by The Albany Times-Union shows.

The suspect was finally nabbed June 18 and slapped with a first-degree rape charge, Albany cops confirmed.

Court records show Akkan has an address listed in Troy, NY, but he is not a US citizen, and his lawyer confirmed on Thursday that he does have family in the Albany capital region. He was arrested by US Border Patrol agents on Nov. 5 last year after crossing into San Diego, California, illegally, a Homeland Security source told The Post.

4. One of the Illegal Immigrants Charged With Murder of 12-Year-Old Jocelyn Nungaray Was Recently Released Into the US

On June 20, the New York Post reported:

Police in Houston have arrested two migrants from Venezuela for the murder of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray, who was lured away from home, then strangled and dumped in a bayou.

One of the suspects crossed the border illegally less than a month before the shocking murder, and was released into the US after claiming he feared for his life if he was sent back to his home country, sources told The Post.

Johan Jose Rangel Martinez, 21, and Franklin Jose Pena Ramos, 26, were charged Thursday with capital murder.

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) sources said Pena Ramos crossed into El Paso, Texas, on May 28. He was released soon after his interaction with border agents.

The second suspect, Rangel Martinez, crossed the border at El Paso on March 14 and was released with a court date in August, sources said.

Investigators identified the suspects from surveillance footage, after they were seen following Jocelyn as she walked into a local convenience store. Her body was found in a swampy creek on Monday by a Houston resident who happened to be driving by.

The victim’s mother, Alexis Nungaray, said her daughter sneaked out of their apartment late Sunday. She told local outlet KHOU that she was taken “advantage of” by her killers.

5. Illegal Immigrant Who Admitted to Raping 13-Year Old NYC Girl Was Never Deported, Despite Judge’s Order

On June 20, the Daily Wire reported:

An illegal alien who entered the U.S. under the Biden administration and was never deported, despite an order from a federal immigration judge, admitted to raping a young girl in New York City last week, prosecutors said on Wednesday.

Christian Geovanny Inga-Landi, 25, was arraigned on multiple charges this week after a group of Good Samaritans beat him up and held him until authorities were able to arrest him early on Tuesday. He had been on the run for several days after the attack on a 13-year-old girl in Kissena Park in Queens.

The New York Post reported that the Ecuadorian migrant was charged with predatory sexual assault, first-degree rape, two counts of second-degree kidnapping, two counts of first-degree robbery, second-degree rape, first-degree sexual abuse, obstructing governmental administration, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

The New York Post separately reported that a federal immigration judge ordered him to be deported in February 2022, according to sources at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The report said that Inga-Landi illegally crossed into the U.S. at Eagle Pass, Texas, in June 2021 as part of the unprecedented wave of illegal aliens pouring into the country under President Joe Biden.

Inga-Landi entered the U.S. with his son, the report said, adding that they were “deemed ‘inadmissible’ by border agents because they lacked proper documentation to be in the U.S., but were released with the notice to appear in immigration court for ‘humanitarian’ reasons.”

ABC, CBS, NBC evening and morning show coverage: 3 minutes, 4 seconds. On June 18, ABC’s World News Tonight delivered a 1 minute, 16 second report on the arrest. The June 18 edition of NBC Nightly News offered a full 1 minute, 42 second report on “Good Samaritans” tracking down the accused rapist. There was also a 6-second mention on the June 21, NBC Nightly News. CBS did nothing.

6. Illegal Immigrant Arrested for the Murder of Maryland Mother Rachel Morin

On June 15, Baltimore’s Fox affiliate WBFF reported:

Law enforcement have arrested Victor Antonio Martinez-Hernandez in Tulsa for the killing of Rachel Morin, a Harford County mother of five who was found dead near a hiking trail in August of 2023.

In a press conference announcing the arrest on Saturday, Harford County Sheriff Jeffery Gahler said that Martinez-Hernandez was arrested late Friday night and booked on Saturday morning; he is charged with first-degree murder and first-degree rape.

Sheriff Gahler went on to say that Martinez-Hernandez is a “23-year-old citizen of El Salvador.” He said that Martinez-Hernandez crossed the border into the United States in February of 2023, and that he believes that Morin was not his first victim.

“It is my understanding that this suspect, this monster, fled to the United States after the murder of a young woman in El Salvador a month earlier in January of 2023,” Sheriff Gahler said. “Once in our country, he brutally attacked a nine year old girl and her mother in a home invasion in March of 2023 in Los Angeles.”

ABC, CBS, NBC evening and morning show coverage: 2 minutes, 47 seconds. On June 16, CBS’s Face the Nation host Margaret Brennan pressed Maryland Governor Wes Moore on Morin’s murder and the border crisis for 2 minutes, 21 seconds. On June 21, NBC Nightly News offered a 26-second mention. ABC did nothing.

7. Illegal Alien Who Was Deported 16 Times, Killed a 64-Year-Old Colorado Man in Vehicle Crash

On June 17, Breitbart.com reported:

An illegal alien from Mexico, deported 16 times from the United States, is accused of killing a 64-year-old man from Bailey, Colorado, in a vehicle crash.

Ignacio Cruz-Mendoza, a 47-year-old illegal alien, has been arrested and charged with vehicular homicide, vehicular assault, reckless driving, and driving without a commercial driver’s license in connection to the death of 64-year-old Scott Miller.

According to the Colorado State Patrol, Cruz-Mendoza was driving a semi-truck for the Indio, California-based Monique Trucking company on Highway 285 near Conifer, Colorado, when the vehicle veered off the road, causing the pipe and angle iron he was carrying to spill on top of five vehicles in his path. In one of those vehicles was Miller, who was killed at the scene. Another driver in a separate vehicle suffered serious injuries as a result and is recovering at a nearby hospital.

Officials with the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency have since confirmed to KUSA-TV Denver that Cruz-Mendoza is an illegal alien who has been deported from the U.S. to Mexico a total of 16 times over the last two decades.

Cruz-Mendoza was first deported in May 2002 after he was arrested on local charges in Oregon the month before. Since then, he has been deported and has repeatedly returned to the U.S., likely through the nation’s porous southern border.
