Well, now they tell you. The network morning shows on Monday all admitted that ramping up oil production in the wake of the war in Ukraine will “take some time.” There was no mention of the Biden administration’s war on energy independence. And NBC’s Today mentioned buying an electric car instead to save money on gas.

CNN went all out to hype a small decrease in gas prices in December as a sign of better days. Now that gas prices have skyrocketed, the network’s twisted coverage deserves revisiting.

Two of the top economists at the George Soros-funded Economic Policy Institute (EPI) claimed in an op-ed for CNN Business that U.S. families have become “better off” thanks to government stimulus money. They also wrote that America is experiencing a “strong recovery” — except they made zero mention of record high gas prices and completely downplayed concerns over inflation.

When a president’s poll numbers are tanking, as the most recent Washington Post/ABC News poll shows they are for President Biden — 37 percent approval — he needed to do something spectacular, even radical, to keep him from sinking further. Knowing that ceasing the purchase of oil from Russia will only drive up gas prices further, Zakaria on Sunday urged President Joe Biden to ramp up U.S. oil production.
