As gas prices continue to skyrocket to astronomical levels around the country on Monday, ABC’s World News Tonight completely ignored the story. Although both CBS Evening News and NBC Nightly News covered the pain American consumers are feeling at the pump, they promoted the Biden administration’s ineffective solutions to the problem.

Well, now they tell you. The network morning shows on Monday all admitted that ramping up oil production in the wake of the war in Ukraine will “take some time.” There was no mention of the Biden administration’s war on energy independence. And NBC’s Today mentioned buying an electric car instead to save money on gas.

CNN went all out to hype a small decrease in gas prices in December as a sign of better days. Now that gas prices have skyrocketed, the network’s twisted coverage deserves revisiting.

Two of the top economists at the George Soros-funded Economic Policy Institute (EPI) claimed in an op-ed for CNN Business that U.S. families have become “better off” thanks to government stimulus money. They also wrote that America is experiencing a “strong recovery” — except they made zero mention of record high gas prices and completely downplayed concerns over inflation.
