The New York Times liberal columnists (redundant?), given a night to marinade in the bitterness of enormous losses on every level of government for the Democrats, responded with various shades of bile, bias, and unconvincing happy talk.

The latest in the annals of hyperventilating, far-left, excessive environmental panic turned into personal demonization. When results came in Tuesday night which put Republicans into the majority in the Senate, “Americans had turned their backs on the planet,” Dan Kennedy claimed in a Wednesday post on the WGBH News site.

On Monday, CBS This Morning followed in the footsteps of ABC and NBC by hyping a new United Nations report on climate change. On Sunday, both ABC and NBC did their best to play up a new United Nations report on climate change, proclaiming its findings to be “alarming.” On GMA, newsreader Ron Claiborne hyped how “scientists say that the Earth is locked now in a irreversible course of global warming due to the buildup of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.” 

New York Times environmental reporter Coral Davenport surely delighted her paper's core readership of "sophisticated" liberals by mocking conservative stands against "global warming" in "Why Republicans Keep Telling Everyone They’re Not Scientists."

Liberals are horrified that on paper, NPR now only has one reporter on the "climate change" beat. Katherine Bagley at InsideClimate News reports there used to be three full-time reporters and an editor on the Earth-on-fire watch. But NPR insists that it knows this is a deeply important issue, and never one in need of balance. 

On Monday's Morning Joe, MSNBC's Joe Scarborough prompted hippie icon Graham Nash of Crosby, Stills, and Nash fame to promote his new song about the police shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri. Nash wildly contended that "what happened with...almost, the execution of Michael Brown, we had to say something." He also took a shot at a regular boogeyman for MSNBC: the Koch brothers.

Brian Beutler says it’s likely that Republicans “understand that voting restrictions suppress the Democratic vote,” but they probably view that “as a feature rather than a bug.”
