On March 10th, Univision’s evening newscast Biden’s unhinged response against an automotive worker during his visit to Michigan. While the vulgar language covered by the Democratic nominee was shown, the key feature in which Biden threatened to slap the worker along with calling him a “horse’s a**” was completely ignored.

The Hispanophone media´s penchant for hyperbole went on full display at Telemundo´s Al Rojo Vivo with Maria Celeste Arraras, who devoted the entire edition of the news magazine that aired on Wednesday, March 10, 2020 to countering President Trump's call for the use of sanity vs. panic, regarding the threat of the coronavirus spreading in the United States.

Joe Biden’s rise from the ash heap to Democratic frontrunner, while remarkable unto itself, is also remarkable for the manner in which it exposed the nation’s domestic Spanish-language media’s agenda-driven journalism. The networks built a narrative which centered around making Bernie Sanders a “Latino” candidate with which to flex power and influence.

The liberal Hispanic media´s penchant for headlining anonymous, secondhand news to intimidate viewers through trepidation, is alive and well at Univision. Case in point: a report quoting a dubious New York Times article about Operation Palladium, the joint effort between ICE and the Department of Homeland Security, aimed at monitoring undocumented immigrants in sanctuary cities.

As COVID-19 continues to spread, so do the insidious comments by the likes of CNN En Español anchor Juan Carlos Lopez, who turned a report on the correct preventive measures to take against the virus into an opportunity to call U.S. Rep Matt Gaetz a clown for wearing a gas mask to work.
