Twitter launched a new tool that allows users to secretly downvote tweets to see how the company could “better surface the most relevant content,” the platform said in an email to MRC Free Speech America. Twitter will be able to taint tweets that leftists don't like by highlighting negative replies and burying favorable comments.

Reports have indicated that Spotify has removed approximately 70 episodes of “The Joe Rogan Experience.” Many on the left have attacked Rogan for his promotion of alternative treatments of COVID-19. “The apparent removal of the episodes, all of which were recorded years before the pandemic began, was spotted by JREMissing,” CNET originally reported.

The Anti-Defamation League, which has lobbied and advised Big Tech to censor speech, altered its definition of racism following The View co-host Whoopi Goldberg’s outrageous Holocaust remarks.

Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) torched the news media for being a “source of misinformation” as senators discussed a proposal to allow news outlets to coordinate ad negotiations with Big Tech. MRC Vice President of Free Speech America and Business Dan Gainor also slammed the proposed law during the congressional hearing on the future of journalism.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki called on music and podcast streaming platform Spotify to tighten its grip on speech to stop so-called “misinformation.” It’s a culture-war tactic often used by the left: Accept some subservience by others to its agenda, but say that’s only a start.

The leftist ratings firm NewsGuard criticized a Media Research Center study of the site’s ratings, calling it “fundamentally flawed.” 

World-famous podcaster Joe Rogan stirred up controversy with Cancel Culture mobs by interviewing medical professionals who questioned shifting narratives of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, rocker Neil Young pulled his music from Spotify in protest, causing Spotify and Rogan himself to respond.

An updated bill in Washington state has some worried that candidates could be jailed for political speech. Spotify apparently accepted singer Neil Young’s terms after he demanded the platform choose between his music and famed podcast host Joe Rogan. Old man, look at your life. Spotify noted in a response to the once-legendary Canadian-American singer’s ultimatum that it regrets Young’s decision to remove his music from the platform’s library.
