On Friday morning, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported the economy gained 273,000 jobs in February, well above economist predictions, and the unemployment rate fell from 3.6 percent to 3.5 percent. Wage growth ticked up slightly to 3 percent for the year. But Friday night's newscasts either skipped this news (NBC) or downplayed it as stocks continued to decline (ABC, CBS, PBS).

ABC and NBC on Friday spun the cringe-inducing, awkward new comments by Bill Clinton, in which the former President blamed his White House affair with Monica Lewinsky as “anxiety” management. The journalists at CBS This Morning have a history of featuring the President of Planned Parenthood on their show. They also have a history of tossing softballs to the head of the abortion provider. So it was shocking on Thursday to see Gayle King tell Alexis McGill Johnson that “some would call” the procedure “murder.”
