A time-tested, common-sense civic and cultural norm is currently under direct assault. Specifically, the inherent right to gender privacy, that fittingly separates men and women when it comes to access to public restrooms, has become the latest battlefield of the left.

In almost identical fashion to their hysteria concerning the defeat of transgender bathroom bill in Houston from November, Thursday’s CBS Evening News painted quite the doomsday scenario for Georgia and North Carolina over their respective religious freedom bills as the newscast argued they could lead to massive boycotts and the loss of billions of dollars in business.

In the latest breaking Obamacare news, Amanda Terkel of The Huffington Post tweeted that Marcelas Owens, “The cute little kid who stood next to Obama for signing of ACA now is 17, identifies as transgender.” CNN.com’s John Blake brought the usual political correctness to the task. The headline was "I'm not the Obamacare kid anymore."

A weird thing happened on Sunday’s edition of E! Channel’s I Am Cait, titled ‘Partner Up’. Okay, let me rephrase that. An exceptionally weird thing happened on Sunday’s edition of I Am Cait, as Chandelier (don’t ask) and Candis make their way through the South on the tour bus.

Washington City Paper reports with cheerleading that the pop-punk band PWR BTTM (don’t google power bottom) is using its “unmistakable charisma and candor” (captured in part by NPR promotion)  to impose on concert venues a “gender-neutral” restroom policy. Last month, the ABC/Univision-owned website Fusion celebrated the emphasis on "trans-friendly" bathrooms.

On Tuesday’s The View, hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Raven-Symone, Michelle Collins, and Sunny Hostin discussed Caitlyn Jenner’s foray into politics but saved their nastiest criticism for the GOP candidate Jenner had been backing. The term “sex offender” screams media-bait – except if he happens to back a transgender bill that could result in men entering women’s bathrooms. That wouldn't bode so well for the liberal media's agenda. One major N.C. newspaper mentioned his conviction only after he resigned as an LGBT leader – and after a conservative organization repeatedly contacted the outlet for more than a month. 

In the new X-Files episode "Mulder & Scully Meet the Were-Monster," the monster of the week is a horned lizard that transforms into a human and back. At one point the monster is hit by a former man who "transitioned last year" into a woman. Talking about it later, Fox Mulder tries to explain what transgender means to the human form of the lizard, and it does not compute.

Reviewing the new drag queen-centered Broadway show Kinky Boots in Monday’s New York Times, critic Ben Brantley chose to dedicate a few paragraphs to the bizarre suggestion that the show should make one think “that maybe all those grumpy guys who populate the Republican debates might be a lot looser if they traded in their navy suits for rainbow-colored ball gowns.”

Republicans can’t win when it comes to the LGBT crowd. It’s no secret that Republicans are labeled insensitive by LGBT’ers when they criticize them, but now it’s apparently problematic for Republicans to support the LGBT crowd too.

Josh Lederman at the Associated Press spent the final two paragraphs of his Wednesday evening report on a meeting between President Barack Obama and Israel's President Reuven Rivlin describing "the White House's annual Hanukkah celebration."
