LA Times Responds to NewsBusters

October 8th, 2013 8:07 PM
On Sunday, NewsBusters exposed the Los Angeles Times for admitting that it doesn't publish letters to the editor "that say there's no sign humans have caused climate change." The Times responded Tuesday:

LA Times: We Don't Publish Letters to Editor Claiming Man Isn't Causin

October 6th, 2013 3:30 PM
It's one thing for a news outlet to advance the as yet unproven theory of anthropogenic global warming; it's quite another to admit that you won't publish views that oppose it. As amazing as it may same, that's exactly what the Los Angeles Times did Saturday in an article by editorial writer Jon Healey:

Networks Embrace ‘Catastrophic’ Warnings of Latest IPCC Report

October 2nd, 2013 2:21 PM
The UN’s climate panel (IPCC) released its latest warning about "catastrophic" climate change on Sept. 27, garnering the frantic attention of all three broadcast networks that night. CBS even aired a claim about temperatures rising “more than 200 degrees." Predictably, the evening news shows on ABC, CBS and NBC Sept. 27 repeated the IPCC’s dire warnings without including any skeptics and…

AP's Daly Hides Foiled Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Nominee's

October 1st, 2013 11:26 PM
On Tuesday, Ron Binz, nominated by President Obama to head the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, withdrew his name from consideration. Those who want to see the economy prosper should be relieved that the position described by Matthew Daly at the Associated Press as that of "the nation's top energy regulator" won't be occupied by a died-in-the-wool "renewable" energy radical. The AP's…

IPCC Global Warming Report Moves Former WSJ Weatherman to Tweet 'Tears

September 29th, 2013 11:44 AM
Whether the ice caps are melting and by how much may be debatable, but the debate is over as to whether former Wall Street Journal weatherman Eric Holthaus, who now works at Quartz (qz.com), has had a meltdown. In a series of tweets on Friday afternoon (scroll down at link; HT Twitchy), Holthaus told the world of his reaction to the latest wave of hot air emanating from the Intergovernmental…

CBS Stunned By Climate Change 'Inconvenient Truth...On The Way To The

September 27th, 2013 1:26 PM
Thursday's CBS Evening News was practically shocked by a fact that threatens the agenda of radical environmentalists – global temperatures have simply not risen in 15 years. Scott Pelley trumpeted how "on the eve of a major new report on climate change...a surprising discovery." Mark Phillips hyped that "another inconvenient truth has emerged on the way to the apocalypse....the global…

Charlie Rose Talks to Gore for 30 Minutes Without Mentioning 15 Year H

September 25th, 2013 3:24 PM
With the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change about to release its much-anticipated fifth assessment report Friday, all eyes have been focused on how contributors will address the fifteen year halt to temperature increases despite rising levels of atmospheric carbon dioxide. It was therefore preposterous of PBS’s Charlie Rose to spend almost 30 minutes talking to former President Bill…

As IPCC Report Looms, AP Frames 'Scientific Consensus': 'Humans Are Co

September 24th, 2013 5:01 PM
It's amusing to see how the left reacts when things don't work out as predicted. Earlier today (at NewsBusters; at BizzyBlog), I noted how USA Today's Kelly Kennedy described a major malfunction in Obamacare which will cause hundreds of thousands of children to go without health insurance next year as a "glitch." On the "climate change" front, those darned "glitches" abound. In an item today…

As AP Hypes Models Claiming Global Warming Involvement in Fiercer Stor

September 8th, 2013 6:19 PM
As is all too often the case, in certain matters affecting things here in the United States, if we didn't have news from Britain, we wouldn't have any real news at all. Take "climate change" aka "global warming." At the Associated Press, Seth Borenstein on Thursday hyped the idea that man-made global warming increased the likelihood of about half," or six of 12, of "2012's wildest weather…

IPCC Draft: 'Extreme High Sea Levels' Not Assessed, But Still Consider

September 1st, 2013 10:47 PM
At the New York Times's "Dot Earth" blog, Andrew Revkin reports that "the science on a connection between hurricanes and global warming is going in the opposite direction" — as in, the evidence that the connection between human-caused global warming (overgenerously assuming that there is any) and hurricane intensity or frequency of "heavy precipitations events," as shown in a "snapshot" of a…

Not News: Obama and Bloomberg Summer Events Spectacularly Fizzling

August 24th, 2013 7:16 PM
In advance of a month full of events oriented towards demonstrating displeasure with lawmakers who won't give carte blanche to President Obama's healthcare, gun control, "climate change," and immigration agendas, Organizing for Action Executive Director Jon Carson claimed that "We will own August." New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and his Mayors Against Illegal Guns also anticipated high levels…

NYT Hypes Leaked Documents To Promote Climate Alarmism

August 22nd, 2013 4:31 PM
The New York Times is quick to forget the past when it doesn’t promote their agenda. In Nov. 2009, the United Nation’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) was involved in the “ClimateGate” scandal, but that didn’t stop the paper from hyping leaked information from an upcoming IPCC report on Aug. 20. However, the BBC reported that the IPCC has said those leaks were “misleading.”…

NBC 'Sounding the Alarm' on Climate Change: 'Industrialized World' Usi

August 21st, 2013 12:25 PM
Hyping a story on global warming for Tuesday's NBC Nightly News, fill-in anchor Lester Holt proclaimed: "Sounding the alarm. A leaked report about the danger happening all around us tonight." Introducing the segment, Holt declared that the study "from one of the world's most prestigious groups of scientists...has a lot of people taking notice because of the alarming conclusions about climate…

August 17th, 2013 2:49 PM
Readers are strongly advised to remove all fluids, flammables, and sharp objects from their computers' proximity as the following is likely to cause uncontrollable fits of laughter! You've been warned! Al Gore on Friday called MSNBC's Chris Hayes "this generation's Edward R. Murrow":
