Aaron Sorkin, “right-winger”? There’s no other way to describe the contention that the notoriously liberal filmmaker is, somehow, conservative. Yet, that’s how another well known liberal director in Hollywood described the West Wing creator in The New York Times.

 The 78^th annual Golden Globe Awards aired on NBC on Sunday night. Hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler signaled in advance that this year’s production would likely be politics-free. Some of the stars receiving awards must not have gotten that memo.

It looks as if this final season of The Newsroom might end with total apocalypse. The show is ending and the world will probably end with it if Aaron Sorkin continues with the theme of last night's show in which a government official warns that not only is the world doomed due to global warming but there is nothing we can do about it.
