Freeform’s Kal Penn Approves This Message has only two weeks until the election, so the limited series now has to work overtime if it wants to sway any voters. To do that, the latest episode shifts radically to the left to the topic of climate change. And the show still believes it’s acting “nonpartisan.”

Last week, Freeform’s Kal Penn Approves This Message made the rare decision to invite an actual conservative on to discuss political issues. From there, I was hoping for the show to actually keep its word on being a “non-partisan” election series. Unfortunately, all that ended with its latest effort to shill for Medicare For All.

Just about the only thing that could make your blood boil more than the first presidential debate is one half-hour of Freeform’s Kal Penn Approves This Message. For those of you not in the know, this is the program that believes it can still be non-partisan after showcasing Bill Nye and Hillary Clinton. Somehow, I don’t think that will bring people together.

It’s starting to get hard to keep track of all the TV specials Hollywood’s got planned for the next two months to influence the 2020 election. Last week, we reported on ABC’s Blackish planning to air a scripted two-part special for the election as well as a voting-themed comedy special made by Michelle Obama and hosted by Kevin Hart to be broadcast on ABC.
