In a piece Monday night for Slate’s Future Tense partnership with New America and Arizona State, James Erwin passed blame onto the President for the ancestry fiasco concerning Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren (MA), suggesting it could lead to a new McCarthyism with politicians being “bullied” into taking such tests.

So Sen. Elizabeth Warren has announced she commissioned a DNA test to address her long-standing claims to have Cherokee ancestry. The Boston Globe reported Warren’s DNA analysis “suggests she’s between 1/64th and 1/1,024th Native American.”The fraction 1/1024 works out to 0.09 percent. So since Sen. Warren is .09 percent Indian, she may now be eligible to own .09 percent of a casino.

While many even in the liberal media have derided Elizabeth Warren’s botched attempt to justify and explain her claim of having Native American history, Time magazine is digging in and defending the liberal Senator. In a Tweet on Tuesday, the news weekly insisted, “Elizabeth Warren's DNA test shows how she's weaponizing transparency.”
