REGIME MEDIA REDUX: Margaret Brennan Lets Elizabeth Warren Dodge Subpoena List Questions

November 8th, 2026 2:56 PM

With the 2026 midterm election now mostly in the rear-view mirror, the Elitist Media are wasting no time cozying up to the new incoming congressional majority. In this case, it means suppressing publicly available evidence of the scope of the upcoming congressional inquisitions.

Consider this exchange between CBS’s Margaret Brennan and incoming Senate Banking chair Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) on Face the Nation:

MARGARET BRENNAN: You have said you want to bring Big Tech CEOs, Wall Street executives and giant corporations who may have broken the law to face consequences. To be clear, is your focus going to be legislation or is it going to be investigation?

ELIZABETH WARREN: Look- we have to do both. But I do want to be clear. If you've been making your profits by cheating American families and scamming your investors, you’d better get ready for some investigations. Serious ones.

BRENNAN: Who do you have in mind there when you say that?

WARREN: Anyone who's been cheatin’. That's what investigations are all about.

BRENNAN: Okay. So you don't have a list of people you plan to subpoena yet? You- Even though you're going to be in this chair.

WARREN: We- I- It's important that we go through the steps for investigation, because, look, the American people are just damn sick of this. They are sick of a White House that wouldn't enforce the laws even when they got cheated. They're sick of a White House that dropped investigations, that said, oh, if you make a nice contribution to Donald Trump's ballroom, then there won't be any enforcement of the law when you've cheated millions of American customers.

BRENNAN: Well-

WARREN: That has to end.

After Warren’s two passes on the existence of a list of executives for Democrats to go after, Brennan shifted to a specific question on the allegations surrounding Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang. There was no substantive followup on the list.

Warren’s response to Brennan on the list questions was, shall we say, less than fulsome. And Brennan had to have known it. Because there is readily available public reporting that indicates that there is indeed a hit list in place. Per The Washington Sun (formerly NOTUS):

Senior congressional Democrats have been studying a 181-page dossier that identifies hundreds of executives and companies for them to investigate after they take control of the House and Senate next year.

The document, drafted by the think tank Groundwork Collaborative and reviewed by The Washington Sun, argues that the party should respond to the results of the election by aggressively probing large corporations, including the biggest tech giants, artificial intelligence labs, natural gas firms, private prisons and nursing home operators, among dozens of others.

…

Those who have evaluated the Groundwork dossier include Warren, the heads of the House Democratic caucus, party leadership, members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus and a half-dozen chiefs of staff for incoming senators.

The report goes on to note that former Warren staffers are heavily involved in the Groundwork dossier. This report was published well in advance of the interview and was therefore available to production teams.

There are three takeaways from this interview that are readily discernible for anyone with two eyes and two brain cells. First, that the Democrats are going to return to weaponization of government against their perceived political foes. Second, that the Elitist Media will enable this weaponization by any means necessary, including omissions of inconvenient information that counters whatever narrative is to be put forth.

The third: that for all the Media Hall Monitors’ whining and caterwauling, CBS News is not “MAGA-aligned” or anything close to it. What we see instead is that, minus some nibbling around the edges, CBS News pretty much remains the same. The Regime Media is back, baby!
