On Monday’s The View, the show started off with the hosts ripping into President Trump and “the right” for speaking out against the caravan of illegal aliens marching towards the U.S./Mexico border. Meghan McCain was the only co-host to argue for stronger immigration laws, as the rest of the hosts complained about racism and the lack of “humanity” the President displayed.
Reading one of the President’s tweets he sent out this morning, warning about “criminals and unknown Middle Easterners” mixed in the crowd coming from Central America, co-host Whoopi Goldberg scoffed as Joy Behar and Sunny Hostin joined in mocking Trump:
Sadly, it looks like Mexico’s Police and Military are unable to stop the Caravan heading to the Southern Border of the United States. Criminals and unknown Middle Easterners are mixed in. I have alerted Border Patrol and Military that this is a National Emergy. Must change laws!

JOY BEHAR: It's ridiculous.
WHOOPI: [scoffs] Is this straight-up fear mongering? When did he start putting the middle easterners in?
SUNNY HOSTIN: Are they walking here? Are they walking here?!
BEHAR: You know what, He makes up everything. He'll tell you Osama Bin Laden is marching. He lies about everything.
Co-host Abby Huntsman sympathized for the large crowd of illegal immigrants coming, who refused asylum from Mexico, saying this was “heartbreaking” and a “humanity” issue, while touting the liberal’s favorite line that everyone in America is “an immigrant.”
Finally Meghan McCain stepped in to argue that we were also a nation of laws:
“We're also a nation of laws. We're a nation of laws and borders which is part of my problem with the way some of how this is being spun,” she slammed. McCain went on to call this a “conservative fever dream and a gift to the midterm elections,” because of how many on the left were calling for open borders.
[T]his is exactly what conservatives think people on the left want to have happen into this country. I'm not saying not accepting refugees. I'm not saying not accept legal immigration. What a lot of people on the left are saying, no one on this table, is that you want open borders and no consequences whatsoever.
Sunny Hostin tried to make this about race, arguing that “the right” was lying about the ethnicity of most illegal aliens:
“I wish that then the people on the right would tell the truth about what's really happening in immigration because the largest number of undocumented,” she began before being cut off by McCain.
“Did you just accuse me of not telling the truth?” she retorted.
“No, no I said people on the right,” Hostin denied she was referring to McCain personally as Behar praised her for being a moderate.
“You’re not on the extreme right. You’re not,” Behar gushed.
McCain said she was “more extreme on this issue than people realize,” saying we needed these laws because of sanctuary cities where people like Kate Steinle were killed. Hostin went back to her point that the right only cared about immigration because they wanted to vilify “brown and black people:”
Can I just say this, when you look at the stats, 41% of undocumented immigrants are from Asia, from Asia. A large majority of ille--undocumented immigrants are from Sweden, they're from Canada. They aren't on that caravan. And I wish people on the right pointed that out. It's always about brown and black people and that's not the truth. [loud applause]
McCain denied she was “bringing race into this,” before Behar slammed Republicans for taking away government benefits:
“All I know is that these people are not coming to take your Social Security, your Medicare and Medicaid. Mitch Mcconnell and the Republicans are the ones who are doing that!” she exclaimed as they cut to commercial.
