In February, the Media Research Center announced a campaign to hold ABC’s advertisers accountable for the anti-Christian bigotry spewed on The View. There, the show’s co-hosts smeared Christians as “dangerous” and “mentally ill.” But The View’s history of bashing people of faith didn’t start in 2018.

This morning, Fox and Friends blasted View host Joy Behar’s hypocrisy in calling conservative Vice President Mike Pence “mentally ill” for confessing he talked to God, while ignoring liberal democrat Oprah Winfrey admitting she does so as well.

The liberal hosts of ABC’s The View opened Monday by opining how awful the modern conservative movement was, on their February 26 show. The hosts bashed this year’s CPAC (Conservative Political Action Conference) guests as “extremists” who were once considered part of the “fringe” but were now the majority of the Republican party.

Actor and activist Jesse Williams appeared briefly on The View, February 23, where he compared the media’s coverage of the Parkland shooter to the Black Lives Matter movement. The liberal Grey’s Anatomy star claimed that the media always spun shootings in favor of the white “oppressor class” while it demonized black kids shot by police.

Meghan McCain was the only one to hold ESPN’s Jemele Hill accountable for the incendiary comments she made about President Trump last September, on the View’s February 21 show.  

On ABC’s February 22 show, The View hosts addressed the White House listening session and CNN town hall that occurred the day before on the Parkland school shooting, but spread some misinformation along the way, as usual.  

The Media Research Center on Wednesday announced a campaign to hold ABC's advertisers accountable for the anti-Christian bigotry spewed on The View. We are encouraging our grassroots army to call The View’s sponsors and let them know how upset you are about a show that smears Christians as “dangerous” and “mentally ill.” 

View co-host Whoopi Goldberg absurdly wondered if the Parkland high school shooting was the long-awaited “call” that would get teens involved in political activism. On ABC’s February 20 show, the hosts praised the students for “responding to a threat,” comparing the teens progressive activism to the Vietnam War, Civil Rights and women’s suffrage movements.

As of Monday morning, the Media Research Center and its grassroots members made over 25,000 calls lambasting ABC and demanding a full apology for anti-Christian comments made by The View on February 13 that suggested Vice President Mike Pence’s “dangerous” Christian faith was a “mental illness.”

Thursday on ABC’s The View, the whole table addressed host Joy Behar’s mockery of Mike Pence’s Christian faith on Tuesday’s show that caused an uproar. Even though the rest of the table, with the exception of Meghan McCain and to some extent Whoopi Goldberg, also made vile comments, ABC only brought up Behar’s comments as controversial.  

In a sit-down interview with Axios on Ash Wednesday, Vice President Mike Pence told investigative journalist Mike Allen that he was upset to hear about The View’s callous remarks about his faith on their show earlier this week.

Media Research Center President Brent Bozell issued the following open letter today in response to ongoing hateful comments made by ABC hosts, including The View’s Joy Behar and Sunny Hostin. Hostin referred to Vice President Mike Pence’s Christian faith as “dangerous.” Behar equated it to a “mental illness.” 

All three broadcast networks ignored a new Politico/Morning Consult poll, which showed President Trump’s approval rating is at its highest its been in the past ten months. The poll also showed Republicans ahead of Democrats on the congressional ballot, in anticipation of the 2018 midterm elections.
