Bizarrely, Chuck Todd took a moment on MTP Daily on September 11 to mourn that we don’t have the same national unity and resolve today that we did after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. This came about ten minutes after he opened the show by saying the virus takes a 9/11 death toll every week, and that President Trump is irresponsibly downplaying the threat. Over the past several days, the media have been displaying a classic example of their double standard in which police shooting stories receive attention. If it bolsters the liberal narrative that police violence is motivated by racism, it is much more likely to receive attention than if a questionable case of police violence involves a white victim.

On Morning Joe, Mika Brzezinski quotes from her hubby's latest Washington Post column in which he wrote that "many working-class Americans have been voting against their own economic interests for so long," by which he meant, voting for Republicans. That is a notion popularized in the book What's the Matter with Kansas? by leftist author Thomas Frank.
