Although CBS This Morning and Charlie Rose provide more substance than the vacuous Good Morning America and light-weight Today show, the program still features easy interviews for Democrats. In a two part exclusive with Barack Obama on Tuesday, Rose offered up such softballs as this one: “The Obama doctrine. What is the Obama doctrine?” 

During a taped softball interview with Hillary Clinton aired on CBS’s Late Show Monday night, liberal host Stephen Colbert fretted that Republicans would run the Democratic frontrunner through a “meat slicer” if she became president.

CBS’s The Good Wife on Sunday took some gratuitous shots at the United States, referring to America s the “land of guns and gangs.” A Canadian justice of the peace lectured: “I'm only remarking now as a Canadian citizen. It would be better if our neighbors from the south would try to emulate the freedoms we enjoy here, with no surveillance and with our superior health care system.”

Thursday’s CBS Evening News featured a segment in which chief medical correspondent Dr. Jon LaPook tag-teamed with the White House and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi to attack Republicans for not going along with demands to create $1.9 billion (that could be passed through Congress) to allow the CDC and NIH to fight the Zika virus.

Keeping up the drumbeat against North Carolina’s religious freedom law on Wednesday, the three network morning shows seized on Republican Governor Pat McCrory amending the legislation and used the development to further hammer the state.
