On Thursday’s network evening newscasts, the CBS Evening News and NBC Nightly News did their parts in touting the supposed state of race relations in America with CBS’s Scott Pelley holding up the deadly shooting in Charleston as “com[ing] at a time of increasing mistrust between blacks and whites” while NBC’s Harry Smith proclaimed that the “virus” of racism from the 1960s “never died.”

While emphasizing that it's (supposedly) only a partial list, it appears that the Associated Press felt compelled today to try to claim that there's a long and recent history of murderous racist attacks on black churches (or predominantly black churches) in the U.S. Somehow, the wire service forgot that a genuine trend needs to continue uninterrupted or at least have some consistency before it…

In a Tuesday article, Variety’s co-editor-in-chief Andrew Wallenstein slammed NBC for its series of exclusive interviews with ex-NAACP leader Rachel Dolezal: “...the most absurd aspect of NBC News’ Dolezal Day was how straight-faced its interviewers sat as their subject grew loonier the more she spoke.”

I have to admit, watching liberals divide into two mutually-exclusive camps over the Rachel Dolezal "transracial" nonsense is kinda fun. Samantha Allen of the Daily Beast comes down squarely on the side that attacks Dolezal's actions as inexcusable, in no small part because it may be "damaging" the push for cultural normalization of transgenderism.

Reacting to Rachel Dolezal’s interview with MSNBC during which the former Spokane NAACP president claimed to identify as black, CNN brought on Charles Blow of the New York Times and cultural critic Michaela Angela Davis to discuss the situation. They both dismissed the idea that Dolezal could identify as black, saying it represents white privilege. 

On Tuesday's New Day, CNN's Michaela Pereira criticized former NAACP leader Rachel Dolezal for her false narrative about her race: "To a lot of people, it's as though she's just appropriating a lifestyle, a culture, a racial identity. And the fact is, she's told a lot of lies about other things."

On Monday’s The Ed Show, Michael Eric Dyson, MSNBC political analyst and frequent guest host on the "Lean Forward" network, used the ongoing controversy surrounding Rachel Dolezal claiming to be African American to deride Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. Dyson asserted: “I bet a lot more black people would support Rachel Dolezal than would support say Clarence Thomas.”

Rachel Dolezal pretended to be black for years as president of the Spokane NAACP. She's now become the "Caitlyn" Jenner of a "trans-black" discussion.
