Whether it’s a 2008 speech by Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton’s June 2 foreign policy speech, MSNBC’s Hardball host Chris Matthews can be counted on to have a hot take that’ll evoke some head scratching and Tuesday can be added to the list as he shrieked that Clinton’s primary victory speech lines attacking Donald Trump “jumped out” at him “like a cougar” and made him think “wow.”

A primary election night on MSNBC wouldn’t be complete without a helping of notable quotes from breaking news anchor Brian Williams and Tuesday was no exception as he hailed Hillary Clinton’s June 2 foreign policy speech and praised the vicious New York Daily News for doing a “superb job” with their covers smearing conservatives and Republicans.

While the sun still had to fully set, CNN wasn’t shy in being completely over the moon for Hillary Clinton as they dubbed her the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee and first woman to hold the title as “a watershed moment of the 2016 presidential race and in the history of American politics.”
