August 16th, 2016 10:57 PM
After failing to find time to report the corruption conviction of Democratic Party “rising star” Kathleen Kane during their hours long morning shows Tuesday, the “Big Three” networks ABC, CBS,and NBC still couldn’t find the time to inform the public that same evening. “Pennsylvania's embattled attorney general announced Tuesday that she will resign by the end of Wednesday after she was convicted…

ABC Refuses to Call Milwaukee Violence 'Riots'

Culture
August 16th, 2016 2:10 PM
“Protest” is a popular word these days, especially when it downplays reality. Following the violence in Milwaukee last weekend, ABC’s World News Tonight used the words “protest(er)” seven times, but used “riot” only when describing police gear. CBS and NBC each used “riot(er)” once, but also preferred “protest(er),” even though what they described and portrayed amounted to obvious rioting.

August 16th, 2016 1:26 PM
On Tuesday, ABC, CBS, and NBC's morning newscasts, along with CNN's New Day, all failed to cover a jury convicting Pennsylvania's Democratic attorney general, Kathleen Kane, on two felony charges of perjury and seven other criminal counts. MSNBC covered the breaking news of the verdict on The Rachel Maddow Show on Monday, and on Tuesday's Morning Joe. Fox News Channel gave news briefs on Kane's…

AP: Trump Is a Down-Ticket Problem — But Hillary's Dishonesty Isn't?

August 16th, 2016 11:48 AM
One of the press's favorite current themes is how Donald Trump's presence at the top of the Republican general-election ticket in the fall has the potential to hurt Republican candidates in Senate and congressional races. That may well be, but the Democrats appear to have a more serious and far more intractable problem which those in the establishment press, including Steve Peoples at the…

Did we miss something, or did the media just admit Hollywood’s double standard on guns? It was a pleasant surprise this morning to discover that USA Today entertainment writer Andrea Mandell thoroughly addressed the issue in a lengthy article entitled “Guns, Politics and Hollywood Collide.”

August 11th, 2016 1:37 PM
According to a statement at the city's web site, Fairfax, Virginia Mayor Richard "Scott" Silverthorne's resignation took effect at noon on Thursday. The resignation occurs a week after Silverthorne was arrested "for allegedly trying to exchange methamphetamine to undercover detectives in exchange for sex, city officials said Monday." The press, as has so often been the case in situations…

AP: Al Gore Would Likely Have Won in 2000 If 'Undervotes' Counted

August 5th, 2016 5:19 PM
History is apparently subject to revision without notice and without basis at the Associated Press. In an outrageous report primarily dedicated to the notion that Donald Trump's concerns about the November general elections possibly being rigged thanks to potential voter fraud "challenges (the) U.S. Democratic system" — but a whole host of leftist-inspired rigging efforts apparently don't — …

Study: Media Coverage Spurs Mass Shootings

Next time there’s a mass shooting along the lines of Sandy Hook or Charleston – to say nothing of Jihadi massacres like Orlando – and the media are blaming everyone but the shooter, remember that they themselves may be plenty culpable.

NYT Critic Compares Slavery to Current Police Controversies

August 4th, 2016 8:22 AM

New York Times book critic Michiko Kakutani is notorious about letting her personal liberal politics infect her aesthetic judgment. In January 2009 she praised incoming president Barack Obama’s "love of fiction and poetry" that "imbued him with a tragic sense of history and a sense of the ambiguities of the human condition," as opposed to President George W. Bush's "prescriptive" reading that…

FBN Coverage of Wednesday's DNC Protests Make a Mockery of AP's

July 29th, 2016 9:59 PM
Wednesday night's coverage of protests outside the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia delivered by Fox Business Network and the Associated Press could hardly have differed more. FBN reported "thousands" of angry protesters oustide who were in no way mollified by Bernie Sanders' endorsement of Hillary Clinton or calls for unity. Geoff Mulvhill and Megan Trimble at the AP only …

As All CMP Charges Dropped, AP Insists PP Never 'Sold' Fetal Parts

July 28th, 2016 2:14 PM
On Tuesday, Harris County's prosecutor in Texas dropped the remaining criminal charges against David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt of the Center for Medical Progress. This ended a clearly politically motivated attempt to turn the tables on the pro-life heroes who showed that Planned Parenthood was trafficking in fetal body parts for compensation. Predictably, the Associated Press did not handle…

CNN Suggests 'Racial Injustice' Behind Killings by Police

July 27th, 2016 4:11 PM
In a pre-recorded report aired three times during Wednesday's New Day, CNN correspondent Manu Raju seemed to assume that criminal suspects who died after confrontations with police were victims of "racial injustice" as he recalled members of the group Mothers of the Movement who appeared on stage at the Democratic National Convention on Tuesday. At 5:11 a.m. ET, after CNN co-host Alisyn Camerota…
