One doesn’t know whether to see this as hilariously ironic or simply evidence of a massive lack of self-awareness. Here is the recent headline in The New York Times after the shooting in Buffalo, the story written by Nicholas Confessore and Karen Yourish: "A Fringe Conspiracy Theory, Fostered Online, Is Refashioned by the G.O.P." Fringe theory? Hardly. Right wing? Hardly.

This past week saw the media repeatedly attempt to connect conservatives and Republicans to a racist gunman who murdered ten African Americans in Buffalo, New York. This is a common move for journalists and it was 12 years ago next week that PBS insisted that Christians are slaughtering people “every day.”
