The 2026 midterm election is a little over a month away, and you can tell when watching the Elitist Media evening news. There is now a deliberate effort underway to push polling DOOM as conventional wisdom, in service of Democrat majorities in the next Congress.

With less than 40 days remaining until the 2026 midterm elections, the Elitist Media are in full rehab mode for some of the left’s more controversial candidates. The latest example: NBC’s Kristen Welker, doing a little image rehab for Michigan Democrat Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed.

PolitiFact is demonstrating its partisanship in the Texas campaign for U.S. Senate. They threw a “False” flag at Texas PAC for the true statement that Talarico “supported using taxpayer dollars for sex change surgeries on young children.” Paxton & Co. are routinely "False," while Talarico has only one "Mostly True" rating. When's he's false, the "Truth-O-Meter" isn't used.

With the midterms approaching, Politico highlights supposed "cracks" in the GOP—especially in Florida and within Trump’s coalition over deportations. The blog suggests Politico is overstating GOP divisions to demoralize Republican voters, casting doubt on polling and media narratives about Republican weakness.

In its rush to paint the GOP as Doomed in November, Wednesday’s PBS News Hour not only made a full meal out of a new PBS-NPR poll showing lagging enthusiasm for Republicans, but interviewed former Kansas Republican Gov. Bill Graves who was apparently making big news by (once again!) endorsing a Democrat, this time one running against sitting Republican Sen. Roger Marshall.

Here's how you know The Atlantic is a Democrat Party organ: it dumps on a "mainstream media" outlet when it prints anything damaging to a Democrat. Everyone can read the "gift article" by leftist screed-demon Jonathan Chait under this headline: "Another Female Democrat Is Mean, Apparently." It's about a tough piece on Alaska Senate candidate Mary Peltola.

As we saw once again this week, the most important story the Elitist Media will often cover is…the Elitist Media. Due to a combination of narcissistic coverage of the White House media ban and the usual stack of nonsensical filler, there are a multitude of important stories that were left off the network evening news. Here are a few of them.

In response to the White House barring reporters from CNN, MS NOW, and Politico from entering White House grounds, reactions on liberal networks have started to delve into comparisons of the Trump administration to Nazi Germany. On Monday’s Deadline: White House, MS NOW legal analyst Andrew Weissmann compared the bans to the “1930s in Germany."

In week two of the so-called “revamped” 60 Minutes, after the show’s big exclusive interview with Patrick Clancy, the second story of Sunday’s new episode focused on AI data centers, specifically backlash against them in Texas. CNN This Morning host Audie Cornish played a clip of "independent" Nebraska Senate candidate Dan Osborn mocking Nebraskans as "Billy Bob and Mary Joe," mindlessly waving their Trump flags, unaware that their lives "suck."  Former Biden aide Meghan Hays defended Osborn, saying he shouldn't have apologized, because it's true.

CBS promoted Margaret Brennan’s interview with U.S. Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar as a followup to her video on immigration that dominated the news cycle. What CBS got instead was a complete undermining of the Elite Media’s First Amendment argument against the White House bans against CNN, MS NOW and Politico.

It was jarring on Thursday to hear NPR Morning Edition anchor A Martinez open an hour of the “newscast” warning about anti-Muslim “lies” from Republicans.

The ABC, CBS and NBC evening news shows continue to do what they do best: Refuse to cover news that could potentially give the Trump brand a boost ahead of the midterms. The lowest poverty rate on record and the highest median income on record? Ignored. 

The cast of MS NOW’s Morning Joe did their best on Friday to help drag Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Abdul-El Sayed across the finish line, with co-host Joe Scarborough being particularly helpful.
