It is not the first time a prominent media outlet has been forced to retract a video piece as a result of misleading and erroneous editing. CBS News was the latest to be caught in the act of disseminating shoddy news packaging in the form of an overflowing Italian hospital video within a story about New York City Covid-19 cases.

Since Tuesday, liberal journalists on CNN and MSNBC have been teaming up with elected Democrats to shoot down the notion that their collective obsession with impeaching President Trump slowed the federal government’s response to the coronavirus pandemic. The biased coverage argued the “talking point” was “dangerous” and predicted that it would not “pick up much traction.”

There is nothing abhorred more by the mandarins of the 24-hour news cycle than hope. Reporting must beget more reporting. If not, viewers lose interested and change channels and teleprompter readers like Don Lemon and Rachel Maddow get less face time. Hence, broadcasts of chaos, doom, and gloom must end with a promise of more doom and gloom to follow.
