Between Wednesday night and Friday morning, the major broadcast networks of ABC, CBS, and NBC have shown zero interest in covering on their flagship newscasts a Wednesday murder in the Washington D.C. suburb of Reston, Virginia allegedly committed by an illegal immigrant who, in addition to being an MS-13 gang member, possesses a lengthy rapt sheet.
And, thanks to a Soros-funded district attorney, the illegal alien was purposefully released from a jail a day earlier.
23-year-old Marvin Morales-Ortez from El Salvador was hit Thursday with second-degree murder charges for his alleged actions in the prominent suburb that’s home to U.S. Geological Survey, offices for a who’s-who of Big Tech, and the former home of the MRC.
In contrast, the Fox News Channel’s Fox & Friends covered it on Friday in a news brief by fill-in co-host Carley Shimkus:
Unsurprisingly, there was not a second of coverage on the Thursday night or Friday morning shows of ABC, CBS, and NBC about a Wednesday murder in the dark-blue D.C. suburb of Reston, Virginia allegedly by an illegal immigrant, who was released from jail Tuesday by Soros-funded… pic.twitter.com/IajD1XCZY7

Alright, we — some — we have some more headlines, starting with this: A Salvadorian illegal migrant has been arrested and is accused of murdering a man just one day after his release from a Virginia jail. He’s had several run-ins with officers, but was released despite a deportation detainer request from ICE. ICE officials have since criticized the Virginia county that released him, saying: “Fairfax County failed the victim by refusing to work with ICE and releasing this criminal alien onto Virginia streets instead of safely into ICE custody.
WJLA — which is the D.C.-area ABC affiliate — had correspondent Tom Roussey on the case and he wrote Thursday about Morales-Ortiz’s record and the actions of Descano’s office (click “expand”):
Morales-Ortez was released from jail on Tuesday after prosecutors with the Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office decided not to move forward with prosecuting him on charges of malicious assault and pointing/brandishing a gun stemming from an incident on September 12.
“Prosecutors were unable to move forward with the case because the victim told police that they were out of the country and would not be coming to court to cooperate in proceedings,” wrote Laura Birnbaum, a spokesperson for Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney Steve Descano, in an email to 7News. “Sadly, without the victim’s necessary testimony, we could not move forward with the case.”
7News learned that the 23-year-old Morales-Ortez has been charged with crimes six other times since 2019 – including a first-degree murder charge for the death of Jose Lorenzo Guillen Mejia in 2019 – but in every case except a charge of petit larceny, prosecutors ultimately decided not to move forward in court.
Birnbaum says the reason the 2020 murder charge for the 2019 death of Guillen Mejia was dropped because the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office eventually learned Morales-Ortez was not the shooter.
“Neighbors say both Morales-Ortez and the man who was killed had lived at the Reston home where the murder happened. However, neighbors had not seen Morales-Ortez recently because, until Tuesday, he had been in jail on the most recent charges,” Roussey added.
Two Fairfax County elementary schools were put on lockdown during what was ultimately a successful search for Morales-Ortez. So, children were possibly traumatized, but at least Soros flunkie/Commonwealth Attorney Steve Descano got his wish to let an illegal alien run roughshod.
Instead of even giving this a news brief, the networks had other ideas, such as all three Friday morning news shows inviting us to feel sympathy for the now-fired tech executive speaking out to The New York Times about how difficult her life has been since she was caught in that infamous video canoodling with her boss at a Coldplay concert.
