The Swamp: TikTok Hires Firm Founded by Biden Senior Adviser, Nets Yawn

March 14th, 2023 9:31 AM

On Thursday night, Politico’s Daniel Lippman reported that the Chinese-owned social media platform TikTok “hired top Biden-connected consulting firm SKDK” founded by current White House senior adviser Anita Dunn within “the last few months” to likely help it escape scrutiny and a possible ban from the federal government amid legitimate concerns its stored data can be used by the Chinese Communist Party.

Given the liberal media’s penchant for littering their newscasts with puff pieces on TikTok bringing people together and viral trends, the major broadcast networks of ABC, CBS, and NBC ignored this story on their flagship morning and evening newscasts.

In contrast, CNN This Morning Weekend had Lippman on to discuss 2024 and, at the end of the segment, gave him just over a minute (65 seconds) on this incestuous relationship between the Biden regime and TikTok.

Lippman’s reporting also made to the Fox Business Network’s Mornings with Maria as host Maria Bartiromo spent 72 seconds discussing it with FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr, who’s been at the forefront of sounding the alarm about TikTok.

Lippman cited two sources in sharing that SKDKnickbocker “is providing communications support to the company, which has come under government scrutiny, with senators recently introducing a bipartisan bill empowering Biden to restrict or potentially ban the service.”

“SKDK is seen as the most well-connected Democratic firm in Washington with former top employees in senior and mid-level roles in the Biden administration,” Lippman added, citing Dunn (who, in a very Swampy happening, is married to President Biden’s personal attorney Bob Bauer) as well as “deputy White House communications directors Kate Berner and Herbie Ziskend, deputy Pentagon press secretary Sabrina Singh and Interior Department press secretary Tyler Cherry.”

It was only days earlier on Tuesday that a bipartisan group of Senators led by John Thune (R-SD) and Mark Warner (D-VA) unveiled a bill to give the Commerce Secretary the power to, as per a joint press release, “review, prevent, and mitigate information communications and technology transactions that pose undue risk to our national security.”

And on Wednesday, FBI Director Chris Wray offered the latest set of comments by a national security official on the dangers of TikTok.

According to Axios (which has accepted TikTok sponsorship on its newsletters), TikTok could be forced to work with the Chinese government for influence and intelligence operations and turn over personal information and data on its millions of users. TikTok has vigorously denied all of these claims, insisting its independent from their Chinese overlords.

As Politico’s Lippman further noted, this marked only the latest attempt by TikTok and parent company ByteDance to shower Washington D.C. elites with money to the tune of “more than $113 million on lobbying since 2019” and hired former members of Congress from both parties in order to have them look the other way.

But, hey, at least ABC, CBS, and NBC spent 44 minutes and seven seconds Friday morning previewing The Oscars!
