This week, Univision's Jorge Ramos tried to bring Covid panic into a live hit from the Ukraine-Poland border, but instead exposed us to the perils of parachute journalism.

Such self-parody requires no additional comment other than to entertain curiosity as to what this stunt might have cost Univision, especially when correspondents are already on the ground in Ukraine that acquitting themselves admirably. To be clear, they haven't had the time interject dopey COVID panic porn into their war coverage what with all the dodging of Russian missiles.
Prior to ABC’s World News Tonight anchor David Muir arriving Thursday in Poland, Ramos had been only English and Spanish network news anchor to make the trip to eastern Europe. Let this embarrassing display be a warning to the others. Put the parachute away.
