Abortion is becoming a popular genre in Hollywood nowadays. Mainstream shows and independent movies are eager to dive into the empowering and somehow hilarious idea that is killing an unborn child. But now HBO is going deeper by attacking the very concept of motherhood itself. And it’s supposed to be funny.

Like its heroes, HBO Max’s Doom Patrol is kind of a mess. The former DC Universe show is yet another example of TV writers thinking the concept of superheroes being noble people doing the right thing is too boring. Instead, we get a raunchy series that has the gall to have Jesus drop an f-bomb. I’m starting to miss the liberal fantasies of Stargirl.

DC Universe and CW’s Stargirl has been a pleasant surprise over the summer. Unlike our other female superheroes, Stargirl managed to make it almost an entire season without bringing up anything political. Unfortunately, that came to an end in the latest episode, though probably not in the way any liberal fan would think.

The HBO show I May Destroy You is a British series exploring the psychological trauma of rape and sexual exploitation. This week’s episode, "Social Media Is a Great Way to Connect," attacked straight white men as a group, in particular, for sexual abuse.

The HBO series I May Destroy You is a complicated and at times nihilistic show set in London exploring the horror of rape. It rightfully calls out sexual violence. However, it also eagerly promotes popular left-wing feminist trends such as a graphic depiction of "period sex."
