The world of liberal late night comedy got even more liberal in 2025 with the inauguration of a new Republican president. According to a new Media Research Center study, the late night hosts told 12,011 of their 13,097 political jokes about conservatives, which comes out to 92 percent, up from 82 percent last year.

It was a challenging task, but an esteemed panel led by MRC President David Bozell and MRC’s Vice President for Research and Publications Brent Baker boiled down all the biased outbursts from lefty hack hosts, anchors, reporters and pundits in 2025 and declared a winner. This year the winner is Matthew Dowd!

Election Day is almost here, and there are three high-profile races involving Democratic candidates who have made shocking statements in their past, but if you get your news from ABC, CBS, NBC, or PBS, you have heard very little to nothing about them. 

In the Trump Era, the late night comedy shows have been looking for any glimmer of light they can find, and they think they have found it in New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani. As the industry puts itself squarely in the middle of Mamdani Mania, it has done its part for the campaign by telling 95 percent of its mayoral election jokes about his rivals.

ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS mostly censor Democrat Jay Jones text controversy.

In the immediate aftermath of Charlie Kirk’s assassination, there were sickening statements made by both journalists and celebrities that either blamed Kirk himself or conservative rhetoric for his death.

Season 51 of NBC’s Saturday Night Live is set to premiere on October 4, but before that a new NewsBusters study looked back and found that 82 percent of Season 50’s Weekend Update jokes targeted conservatives and that 60 percent of its cold open political characters were conservatives or Republicans.

Overall, the broadcast networks have spent only 5 minutes, 50 seconds TOTAL in four months (June 18 through to September 19), since the Biden mental decline hearings began. 

Jimmy Kimmel’s suspension was his own fault. The ABC late night host’s mean-spirited commentary disguised as comedy drove conservatives away.
