Co-host Michelle Miller on July 17 cheered Nikole Hannah Jones, the author of the historically corrupt 1619 Project as the modern day Ida B. Wells, a woman who heroically battled the KKK as she exposed the horrors of lynching. 

On Saturday, MSNBC weekend host Tiffany Cross claimed Critical Race Theory is just the latest culture war boogeyman conservatives are using in their attempt to "whitewash America." Yet, she also maintained on her Saturday show that CRT is necessary in order to explain why 1619 Project creator Nikole Hannah-Jones was initially denied tenure at the University of North Carolina.

“Critical race theory” has become the latest “Republicans pounce” story. Liberal media outlets are upset that this is being debated before school boards. On July 7, CNN reporter Elle Reeve complained “relentless propaganda from some conservatives created a panic that white people and especially white children are under attack.” Perish the thought.

MSNBC is continuing to promote the widely discredited 1619 Project and its creator, Nikole Hannah-Jones. On Tuesday’s The Beat, guest host Jason Johnson brought on MSNBC’s 7:00 pm ET hour host Joy Reid to discuss Hannah-Jones’s decision to leave The University of North Carolina Chapel Hill for a position at Howard University, a historically black university.
