Two weeks after Bill Maher hosted one of the most vile political discussions ever broadcast on national television, the host of HBO's "Real Time" was rewarded with a tenth season of his despicable show.
TV By The Numbers reported Friday:
HBO has renewed Real Time with Bill Maher for its tenth season, launching in early 2012, it was announced today by Sue Naegle, president, HBO Entertainment.
“Bill Maher is a fearless, funny and totally original observer of the modern world,” noted Naegle. “I look forward to bringing his thoughtful and irreverent insights to our viewers next year as another presidential election approaches.”
Thoughtful insights?
Like saying on the July 15th installment that former Alaska governor Sarah Palin is the "leader of a strange family of inbred weirdos?"
Or that same evening hosting guests that discussed having hate sex with Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) and Rick Santorum?
Or that same evening having a guest that said of Republicans, "I wish they were all f--king dead?"
Are these the kind of "thoughtful" "insights" HBO's president looks "forward to bringing" to "viewers next year as another presidential election approaches?”
Apparently so.
