In the wake of the tragic shooting at Michigan State University earlier this week, the unhinged gaggle of gals on ABC’s The View unleashed some truly crazy takes. Joy Behar was so unhinged that she seriously blamed Republicans wearing gun-shaped lapel pins for causing mass shootings. And of course, the so-called “conservative” on the stage couldn’t be bothered to truly defend the Second Amendment as she was too busy arbitrarily dictating who legitimately needed an AR-15.
Racist Whoopi Goldberg began by lashing out at the right; suggesting that since they were “banning” books and “banning” trans people, they should be okay with banning guns:
Well, you know. It's kind of crazy because I think of all the banning of stuff that's going on in this country. Banning of books. Books don’t kill people. Banning of trans people. I don't know any trans people or of any trans people that have killed people. But they are okay banning that. They feel comfortable banning that. And they can't figure out how to ban these guns.
A trans person had NEVER killed someone, Whoopi? Fact check: false! Last year, a transgender SERIAL KILLER was arrested in New York City.
It was Behar who followed up by accusing Republicans of lining their pockets with blood money from “the gun lobby.” “These people take money from the gun lobby and so they promote the guns. That's what it's about. It's about circulating money,” she proclaimed.
She then drew attention to Georgia Republican Congressman Andrew Clyde, who owns a gun store. She was irate that he had the audacity to hand out AR-15-shaped lapel pins (which she called “automatic weapon lapel pins”) to his colleagues.
According to her unhinged mind, these pins were directly linked to mass shootings because they were “promoting more and more gun love, love of guns! Love of guns!” “Many of these people don't seem to understand that their actions are causing kids to die!” she shouted.
What was missing from the discussion was the truth that the shooter had a prior felony gun charge dismissed by a progressive prosecutor, which allowed him to remain on the street and commit the shooting. And that he used a handgun, not an AR-15. Then again, The View was not a place for truth and honest discussion.
Following a commercial break, faux conservative Alyssa Farah Griffin announced she believed “legal gun ownership is fundamental in this country.” But then suggested that showing one’s support for that fundamental right with the lapel pin meant those wearing them were not “sane” nor “serious.”
Racist Sunny Hostin pressed Farah Griffin on if people should be allowed to own a “weapon of mass destruction” like the AR-15. The weak Republican buckled and falsely suggested there was no legitimate reason to own one:
HOSTIN: What about AR-15s? What about assault rifles? What about that?
FARAH GRIFFIN: Depending on how you're defining it. Because some people sort of use that as a broad sweeping --
HOSTIN: Let's define it as the weapon of mass destruction that it is.
FARAH GRIFFIN: An AR-15, I don't personally see any reason that someone would need to own.
Farah Griffin did note that she knew “a lot of sportsmen and collectors” who own ARs, but was interrupted by Goldberg spewing her ignorance of hunting and sports shooting:
GOLDBERG: There maybe sportsmen – there’s – you can't shoot anything with an AR-15 and get any meat.
FARAH GRIFFIN: It's not real sportsmanship.
GOLDBERG: No, it’s not sportsmanship. I’m just saying.
Isn’t it great when people who don’t have a clue about an activity think they can tell those who participate in said activity what’s “real” about it? It’s how Goldberg ended the discussion; falsely suggesting that the Constitution and Second Amendment didn’t give anyone the right to own a lot of firearms:
Why do you think it's okay for you to just have as many guns as you want just because you want them?! That's not how America works!
That IS how America words, Whoopi. Here’s a link to Home Depot so you guys can get re-hinged.
The View’s unhinged lies about guns and gun rights supporters were made possible because of lucrative sponsorships from Ensure and Vicks. Their contact information is linked.

JOY BEHAR: There has to be money taken out of politics is the bottom line in my opinion. These people take money from the gun lobby and so they promote the guns. That's what it's about. It's about circulating money.
I mean, you've got this guy, this representative, Andrew Clyde from Georgia who owns a gun store and has been handing out these automatic weapon lapel pins to colleagues. There's pictures of them. I mean, there he is. And he gave one obviously to George Santos, this other loser.
And it's like they walk around with these pins that have a picture of the gun. This is promoting more and more gun love, love of guns. Love of guns. And that's the kind of society we're in. Many of these people don't seem to understand that their actions are causing kids to die.

ALYSSA FARAH GRIFFIN: I just want to be clear. I support background checks, red flag laws that are properly funded. President Biden’s order just put more money into enforcing them. You can have it on the books put if it can’t be enforced it’s useless. As well as wait periods.
I think legal gun ownership is fundamental in this country. But I also want to highlight – we have 400 million guns in the United States, 300 million people. I don't know a sane serious Republican, not the people who wear these lapel pin, that think we shouldn't get illegal guns off the streets. I fundamentally support that.
HOSTIN: What about AR-15s?
BEHAR: Let me give you a statistic on AR-15s.
[crosstalk]
HOSTIN: What about assault rifles? What about that?
FARAH GRIFFIN: Depending on how you're defining it. Because some people sort of use that as a broad sweeping --
HOSTIN: Let's define it as the weapon of mass destruction that it is.
FARAH GRIFFIN: An AR-15, I don't personally see any reason that someone would need to own. I know there’s a lot of sportsmen and collectors who prefer – who do chose to have –
GOLDBERG: There maybe sportsmen – there’s – you can't shoot anything with an AR-15 and get any meat.
FARAH GRIFFIN: It's not real sportsmanship.
GOLDBERG: No, it’s not sportsmanship. I’m just saying.

GOLDBERG: But the bottom line is [long silence] if you're going to ban books, if you're going to insist on kids not being given the information about their history, get with it and figure out how to ban these – Because you know what, I'm also a gun owner. I'm a responsible gun owner. But what I don't understand is when there are smart, responsible ideas – why do you think it's okay for you to just have as many guns as you want just because you want them?! That's not how America works!
