Meghan McCain ended her nearly four year stint as the sole conservative co-host on ABC’s The View, this past August. Tomorrow the next season begins without her, and seemingly without a permanent conservative co-host to take her place (though conservatives like Mary Katharine Ham are scheduled to guest host.) So we thought it would be the opportune time to showcase some of McCain’s best moments while she was on The View.
The conservative co-host was at the top of her game when she was calling out the left’s hypocrisy and bias.
See below how she powerfully called out the media’s stark hypocrisy in celebrating left-wing protests and riots, while accusing Trump rallygoers of spreading COVID, on the June 16, 2020 show:
But the message from the media is as long as you are protesting something or going to a rally that is of the right politics you can do it and we're going to ignore the spread of COVID...Is COVID a pandemic that we all have to stay sheltering inside or is it not? Or is it only a pandemic if you are a conservative and you're a Trump supporter…?
She stayed sharp as Biden took office, boldly calling out the White House press corps for “slobbering” all over the president, even blasting the sycophantic media’s “strategy” of ignoring Biden’s crises:
McCain also wasn’t shy confronting her co-hosts on their hypocrisy, such as when she asked CNN Republican Ana Navarro, “Why do you consider yourself a Republican?” and “So you prefer Democrats, now?”
She also excelled at asking Democrats tough questions journalists refused to ask.
Check out when McCain called out Sen. Dick Durbin for lying about DACA, cornered Donna Brazile on Clinton funding the Steele Dossier, and demanded Sen. Cory Booker explain how he would “buy back” her brother’s guns.
Or see the many times she pressed Dems to disavow their anti-Semitism or other radical views, such as here, here, and here.
McCain also wasn’t afraid to speak her mind to powerful people, such as media darling California Governor Gavin Newsom. Check out the video below where she bluntly told him, "Californians really hate living there:"
See below when she shamed White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki about Biden’s “kids in cages:”
Or when she pressed Sen. Amy Klobuchar to draw a line on abortion:
It's not an easy job being the only conservative on an all-liberal panel, but McCain served it well. Let's hope they don't replace her with another liberal Republican like Nicolle Wallace.
