Along with the fact that they lost complete and total control of Tuesday’s Democratic presidential debate, co-moderators Gayle King and Norah O’Donnell joined the seven candidates by peddling a far-left narrative about gun control, fretting about a “gun crisis.”
King returned from the debate’s first commercial break with a lengthy question to former Vice President Joe Biden, first noting how the debate hall is “across the street” from “where nine people were shot and killed inside the Mother Emanuel Church” on June 17, 2015.
The Democratic donor and Obama friend continued by stating that all the candidates “have plans...to address the gun crisis” seeing as how “[e]very day in our country, over 100 people die from gun violence.”
“But Congress has not been able to pass a major gun legislation in a quarter of a century. Just think about this. In those 25 years, we've had Columbine, Newtown, Parkland, Las Vegas. Vice President Biden, I want to start with you. Why should anyone have faith that you're the one who can get this done now,” she concluded.
“Gun crisis?” Who gave her that train of thought? Shannon Watts?
Things didn’t get any better as King and O’Donnell refused to fact-check this pants-on-fire claim from Biden about deaths from gun violence:
Imagine if I stood here and said we give immunity to drug companies or tobacco companies. That has caused carnage on our streets. 150 million people have been killed since 2007 when Bernie voted to exempt the gun manufacturers from liability.
Alas, O’Donnell instead offered this leading question from the left to socialist Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT):
I want to allow Senator Sanders to respond because you've gone after the insurance industry. You've taken on pharmaceutical companies and you've taken on big tech. Why did you vote repeatedly to give gun manufacturers a pass?
