In a major story broke by the New York Post Wednesday, it came to light that Hillary Clinton had sent an e-mail from her private server containing classified material months after she left office. According to the Post the message contained information about the “123 Deal” with the United Arab Emirates but, “was heavily redacted upon its release by the State Department because it contains classified information.” And as would be expected, the ABC, CBS, and NBC took a pass on the shocking new development during their evening news programs.
“The 2013 e-mail was sent by Clinton four months after she left the State Department about a foreign policy deal,” reported Fox News’ Chief Intelligence Correspondent Catherine Herridge on Special Report, “And if you look closely, you can see several white boxes on the e-mail. These are redactions citing the B1 exemption, which is classified information.”
According to Herridge, the State Department claims that the information “was classified after the fact.” Herridge pointed out an inconsistency with the department’s explanation, “But a key data point is under the subject line called the declassification date, which means the full e-mail can be public ten years from the day it was sent. Again, suggesting it was classified at that time.” She also noted that, “The State Department insisted tonight that marking has no bearing on when it was classified…”
Interestingly, the only evening news program to cover the latest development in the Clinton e-mail saga was Spanish-language network Univision. But the mere 23 seconds the story was granted is barely enough time to impart the gravity of the situation.
In addition, Fox News had determined the nature of the deal mentioned the e-mail, “Though the nature of the email exchange is unclear due to the redactions, the “123 deal” referred to a 2009 agreement with the UAE to share material and technology for nuclear energy.”

CHRIS WALLACE: Catherine, there are— and this is quite remarkable— new reports today that Clinton sent classified information after she left the state department. What do we know about that?
CATHERINE HERRIDGE: Well Chris, the 2013 e-mail was sent by Clinton four months after she left the State Department about a foreign policy deal. And if you look closely, you can see several white boxes on the e-mail. These are redactions citing the B1 exemption, which is classified information.
Well, the RNC says this shows another breach. The State Department said today the intelligence was upgraded to classified after the fact. But a key data point is under the subject line called the declassification date, which means the full e-mail can be public ten years from the day it was sent. Again, suggesting it was classified at that time. The State Department insisted tonight that marking has no bearing on when it was classified and the Clinton campaign said it's investigating the matter.
