CNN's Monday Situation Room tortured its audience with an out-of-thin-air assessment by Ron Brownstein that James Comey's book and his public visibility would hurt President Donald Trump's standing with white, college-educated voters — because they "look like" him. This is what passes for "analysis" on the formerly serious cable news network.

In the immediate aftermath of The New York Times and President Donald Trump announcing the removal of H.R. McMaster and hiring of former U.S. Ambassador John Bolton as National Security Adviser, CNN’s The Situation Room maligned Bolton as merely a “Fox News Analyst” and TV personality.

As if they were reading talking points from Democratic Congressman Adam Schiff (Calif.), CNN’s Dana Bash and Gloria Borger groaned on Tuesday’s The Situation Room that it was a “tragic” “shame” that House Intelligence Committee Democrats and Republicans haven’t worked together on the probe for Trump-Russia collusion in the same way Congress did with Iran-Contra and Watergate.

At the Jeffrey Zucker-led CNN, they can be trusted to go all-out whenever they find a news story that they deem worth obsessing over. Their screen read “DEBUNKING A SMEAR.” But in 2018, CNN sent a reporter to Thailand to spread unproven gossip: a “self-described sex coach” offering “inside information on Russian’s election meddling” in 2016. Flashing his inner Jim Acosta (again), CNN’s The Situation Room host Wolf Blitzer harassed and lobbied Florida Republican Governor Rick Scott for gun control restrictions in light of the Parkland shooting to stick it to the National Rifle Association (NRA) and “prevent this from happening again” without any policy prescription besides a gun ban.

On Tuesday, it didn’t take long for the liberal media to move from learning about what happened at the deadly school shooting in Florida and the victims to lobbying for gun control. Ghoulishly, CNN law enforcement analyst Phil Mudd, MSNBC’s Hardball host Chris Matthews, and MSNBC’s The 11th Hour host Brian Williams chose to condemn America as an exceptional country due to its gun policies. 

It’s often said at sites like this one, but sometimes, you can’t make this stuff up. On the Tuesday edition of CNN’s The Situation Room, host Wolf Blitzer and correspondent Brian Todd assessed whether the North Korean delegation at the Winter Olympic games “manipulate[d] world public opinion” without mention of their own network’s role in the “charm offensive.”

A CNN panel was visibly disgusted Tuesday evening when news broke out of the Pentagon that President Trump had requested to have a military parade in Washington, DC similar to the Bastille Day parade he witnessed while in Paris, France. The panel was outraged as they tossed around denouncements and comparisons to the despots like those in North Korea and Russia.

The media went into full meltdown mode on Friday when the memo alleging surveillance abuse by the FBI was released.  While many in the media downplayed the contents of the memo as a “nothing burger”, others continued to harp on the narrative that President Trump is at war with the FBI. 

Shortly after the Nunes memo's Friday release, five reporters — three at the Associated Press and one each at MSNBC and CNN, pushed the long-discredited claim that, in the AP's words, "(Christopher) Steele’s opposition research effort was initially funded by the conservative Washington Free Beacon."
