Boston.com's Alvarez Yuks It Up Over Foiled Plan to Poison Boehner

Victor Paul Alvarez's LinkedIn profile says that he's an "Associate Editor - Boston.com at The Boston Globe," with previous stints at East Bay Newspapers and the Baltimore Sun. He was a copy boy at the Sun in 1994 while he was also a student at Towson University, which would likely make him a bit over 40 years old now. It is beyond comprehension that someone with Alvarez's decades of experience…

'Klansville USA' PBS Documentary Takes Cheap Shot at Republicans

"Klansville U.S.A." is a PBS American Experience production by WPBS in Boston based on a book of that title by David Cunningham. It is an interesting look at the rise and fall of the North Carolina Ku Klux Klan in the 1960s. A very good historical documentary marred by the jarring flaw of taking a cheap shot at Republicans.

The New York Times' message to the new Republican congress? Don't cross Obama. That was the gist of three political stories on Wednesday. Sheryl Gay Stolberg's profile of grizzled Senate veteran John McCain included this harsh attack: "...despite hints that he is trying to reinvent himself from cantankerous Obama critic to elder statesman, Mr. McCain still seems to be in clobber mode."

Hypocrite Matthews Hates Hitler Comparisons, But Made Them Himself

MSNBC's Chris Matthews doesn't like it when people compare American politicians to Hitler and the Nazis. Unless, of course, he's doing it himself. On Tuesday, the liberal anchor assailed Republican Congressman Randy Weber for referencing Hitler in a tweet about Barack Obama.

New York Times Applauds Atlanta's Religious Intolerance

Apparently, the New York Times is in favor of faith in the public square -- if the purpose is to mock it.  Editors at the Times poured gasoline on the fire of Atlanta’s latest controversy with an editorial that should shock even their most liberal readers.  Just when you thought the media couldn’t sink any lower, the Times takes on the same First Amendment that gives it the freedom to print these…

Bozell & Graham Column: In Denial About the Attack In France

When America was hit on 9-11, the world united around us. France just had its 9-11, and again the civilized world has come together, all except the United States. Where were America’s leaders as the rest of the world united? The reaction to Islamic terrorists killing 17 people in Paris in the name of their radical creed has been greeted with a very strange perceived need to deflect or just…

The latest report out of Venezuela by the Associated Press's Hannah Dreier has a time stamp of 1:15 p.m. today.
