Media Praise Male Miss Universe Contestant

To compete for Miss Universe you cannot be married, divorced, separated or have ever been pregnant. But hey, you can be a man. Local and international media are praising Angela Ponce for winning Miss Spain and getting a shot at Miss Universe. Usually international media wouldn’t praise a contestant who has yet to win Miss Universe. But the left is going wild because Ponce was born male.

NPR Interview Portrays Bennett as New Kind of Activist 'Hero'

Michael Bennett is no longer a Seattle Seahawks pass rusher (he's been traded to Philadelphia), but social justice warriors in the Emerald City still revere him as the inventor of the athlete activist role and a new kind of hero. Seattle's NPR station KUOW was the perfect progressive forum for an interview that local teacher and SJW Jesse Hagopian conducted with Bennett in a Town Hall last month.

Kurtz Asks: Are Never Trump Republicans Defecting for MSNBC Contracts?

Fox News Channel’s MediaBuzz host Howard Kurtz appeared on The Ingraham Angle July 5 to talk about the recent bout of #NeverTrump Republicans like Steve Schmidt and Max Boot appearing on cable news, disavowing their party over the president. A longtime media critic, Kurtz expressed amazement at the hysteria over Trump from the right which was almost worse than what is seen on the left. ”It’s hard…

New York Magazine Calls Trump SCOTUS Selection a 'Pageant'

As part of their ongoing panic attack over Justice Kennedy’s resignation, the media has now fallen to ridiculing Trump’s selection process as a means of coping with their stress and anxiety. New York magazine is guessing Trump is using looks and "superficial" qualities to make his pick.

On July 4, NPR Replay: How 'God Bless America' Is a 'Syrupy' Whitewash

NPR has a habit -- call it "counterintuitive" -- of trashing popular beliefs on major holidays (or holy days). On Good Friday in 2008, for example, NPR's Fresh Air rebroadcast a guest who trashed Christianity. On July 4, 2018, All Things Considered replayed a five-year-old interview suggesting the beloved patriotic song "God Bless America" annoys "many" with its "syrupy nationalism and…

MSNBC Promotes Website that Connects Democrats With Swing Districts

The liberal media love to pretend they don’t play favorites between the parties. But that’s really hard to defend when you’re praising a liberal organization called Swing Left that connects Democrats with swing districts they can volunteer in. That was exactly what happened during Thursday’s MTP Daily on MSNBC when Chris Jansing filled in for host Chuck Todd.

Pruitt Protester Dismisses Civility Debate as a 'Waste of Time'

During Tuesday’s edition of The Beat With Ari Melber and less than 24 hours before EPA administrator Scott Pruitt resigned, guest host Ayman Mohyeldin interviewed Kristin Mink, the teacher who confronted Pruitt at a Washington D.C. restaurant. Mink has become quite a leftist folk hero, making multiple appearances on cable television. By the time this particular appearance took place, she had…

Politico: Democrats 'Should Play Dirty'

Political theorist and former congressional speechwriter Rob Goodman advocates in Politico that if the Democrats ever regain power they 'should play dirty.' Among the dirty tactics would be to pack the Supreme Court, split California seven ways to get more Democrats in the Senate, and allow felons to vote for starters.

Check Out Six Unhinged Moments from Aspen's Liberal Media Lovefest

The Aspen Ideas Festival has a reputation of being an elitist conclave of liberal academics, journalists, and pundits (with rare exceptions) to pat themselves on the back and how they could work together to advance their left-of-center worldviews. So it was no surprise when the late June gathering held a June 27 panel called “How We Survive Attacks on Journalism” and featured a who’s who from the…

What Manhunt? ABC/NBC Skip Search for Illegals Accused of Raping Teens

It took a few days for the horrific news to make its way to major outlets but on Thursday, CBS was the only broadcast network to inform its viewers of a nationwide manhunt for a group of men accused of kidnapping and raping two teenage girls. Authorities captured two of the men involved and believed they were in the U.S. illegally.

NYT’s Manjoo Plays Lefty Twitter Cop: Should Trump Tweets Be Censured?

New York Times tech columnist Farhad Manjoo is eager to be the left-wing Internet politics czar. He urged cracking down on wrong-think on Twitter in November 2017, by “look[ing] to the community for determining the rights of people on the platform.” His latest social media policing comes in Thursday’s Business Day, where he spent 1,400 words trying to start an employee uprising at Twitter, and…

Trump Supporters Compared To Cultists

Bob Corker, the outgoing Republican senator from Tennessee, recently compared supporters of President Trump to members of a cult. The Washington Post quoted Corker as saying: “It's becoming a cultish thing, isn't it? It's not a good place for any party to end up with a cult-like situation as it relates to a president that happens to be of -- purportedly -- of the same party.”

Jahi's Life Mattered

Amid all the raging political headlines and hyperventilating tweets of the Summer of Resistance, a searing ember of news stopped me in my tracks this week. Jahi McMath has passed away. I never had a chance to meet the young California teen, but her fight for life gripped me three years ago and was never far from my mind or heart -- especially as my own daughter, the same age as Jahi, battled her…

College Destruction of Black Students

Amy Wax, a University of Pennsylvania law professor, has come under attack and scathing criticism because she dared criticize the school's racial preferences program. In an interview with Brown University economist Glenn Loury, discussing affirmative action, Wax mentioned how racial preferences hinder the ability of blacks to succeed academically by admitting them into schools at which they are…
