During an interview with NYPD Chief Terence Monahan on Tuesday, CBS This Morning co-host Tony Dokoupil pressed him to admit “racism” was plaguing police departments across the country. After Monahan rejected the notion, Dokoupil and fellow co-host Gayle King engaged in hand-wringing over his refusal to accept the accusation.

 

CBS This Morning co-host Tony Dokoupil on Thursday lobbied Bernie Sanders to drag Joe Biden to the left, touting ideas such as a “ban on fracking” and “national rent control.” Offering no hint that these ideas could be extreme, Dokoupil asked the socialist if Biden “has promised you anything?”

Journalists and networks are finally, reluctantly, being forced to cover the claims of Tara Reade, a former Senate staffer for Joe Biden who accused the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee of sexual assault. CBS got to it on Thursday and PBS’s Christiane Amanpour on Wednesday night.

Despite most of the liberal media hailing New York Governor Andrew Cuomo as the nation’s “acting president” over his response to the coronavirus pandemic, on Tuesday’s CBS This Morning, co-host Tony Dokoupil actually repeatedly pressed the Democrat on whether he should have taken quicker action to combat the disease outbreak in his state.

In their rush to defend the World Health Organization from President Trump’s criticism of the agency’s failures in the early days of the coronavirus pandemic, on Wednesday, journalists on CBS and ABC ignored that the WHO initially promoted false Chinese propaganda about the disease and routinely lavished the authoritarian regime with effusive praise.

Another network poll is out finding majority support for Donald Trump’s handling of the coronavirus and this time CBS didn’t even manage 10 seconds for the news. Instead, CBS This Morning on Thursday skipped the positive numbers and barely mentioned the survey at all. CBS This Morning on Tuesday mostly ignored the findings of its own poll on the coronavirus and the government’s handling of it. The network allowed a scant 10 seconds to the news that a majority, 53 percent, approve of the President’s response. Relegated to online is the news that more Americans trust Donald Trump to given information than the media itself.

Talking to a self-quarantined Ted Cruz on Friday, CBS This Morning’s Tony Dokoupil worried that unconcerned Republican voters might get more Americans sick with the Coronavirus. The host nudged, “As a Republican senator, what is your message to Republican voters, Republican citizens, about how seriously they should take this outbreak?” 

On Tuesday, the hosts of CBS This Morning warned viewers that common words and phrases with no racial context whatsoever were now somehow examples of “racism” in everyday life. It was all part of a segment designed to promote a “new book teaching kids the roots of racism.”

If a viewer took a few moments to pour a cup of coffee or make a bowl of cereal Thursday morning, they easily could have missed the scant coverage on ABC’s Good Morning America of Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer threatening Supreme Court justices – news that received just 27 seconds of air time. CBS This Morning co-host Tony Dokoupil on Friday played strategist for Bernie Sanders. Dokoupil suggested that the socialist Sanders just stop calling himself a socialist. He didn’t advise  the 2020 candidate to stop being a socialist, just to maybe not call himself that. Turning into a PR agent, Dokoupil “You have got this label stuck to you, socialist." 

An unlikely source threw cold water on the Democratic effort (backed by the liberal media) to label all non-Bernie Sanders candidates as “moderates” or centrists. Former adviser to Barack Obama Valerie Jarrett appeared on CBS This Morning, Thursday and responded to these talking points from co-host Tony Dokoupil. According to Jarrett, there's barely any difference” between the Democrats. 

In a report for Tuesday’s CBS This Morning, co-host Tony Dokoupil went ice fishing with two New Hampshire voters, one Republican, one Democrat. Amid discussing the state’s upcoming primary, Dokoupil couldn’t resist using the mild weather to bring up climate change. He was promptly mocked by the GOP voter.

On Tuesday, anchors, correspondents, and pundits on CBS This Morning all agreed that the real winner of the Democratic Iowa caucus was actually President Trump, given all the chaos that plagued the contest. The network broadcast labeled Monday’s inauspicious start to the 2020 Democratic primary season an “embarrassment” that only “helps the President.”
