On Monday, MSNBC’s Chris Matthews repeadly misrepresented reality while hosting his nightly episode of Hardball, putting his fellow panelists in the awkward position of having to correct him. Within the span of the first fifteen-minute segment, Matthews misinterpreted state audio recording laws, attorney-client privilege, and recent reporting by another journalistic outlet.

It turns out that Rachel Maddow's speculation, articulated twice on Friday, that President Donald Trump ordered air strikes in Syria "because of scandal" is not limited at MSBNC to one far-left host. It's a perceived, widely-shared likelihood which has frequently been tied to Wag the Dog, a movie which appeared just before the late-1990s Clinton-Lewinsky scandal broke.

Despite largely salivating over the leaked copies of James Comey’s book to news outlets, there was plenty of consternation during the Thursday edition of MSNBC’s Hardball, thanks to host Chris Matthews and other guests taking issue with Comey’s “cheap stuff” going after the President’s hand size, height, and skin color.

After complaining about Special Counsel Robert Mueller going “soft” on President Trump for most of the program, Matthews capped it off by oddly championing Mueller as a “starfish” caught in a “battle to the death” with Trump the “clam.”

On Thursday, the liberal media’s mood was nothing short of ebullient with a New York Times scoop that Special Counsel Robert Mueller “has subpoenaed the Trump Organization to turn over documents, including some related to Russia.” MSNBC’s Hardball host Chris Matthews was one such figure, gleefully speculating that it could “lead to Trump’s impeachment.”
