During the post-GOP presidential debate analysis on Thursday’s CBS Mornings and ABC’s Good Morning America (GMA), liberal journalists bellyached that the seven candidates didn’t obsess over the four indictments against former President Trump or fixate on a recent Truth Social post calling for charges to be brought against former Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Mark Milley.

Politico reporter Kyle Cheney is clearly on pins and needles waiting for the January 6 trial of Donald Trump, which isn't until next March. But on Monday, he offered "pregame" excitement in a story promoting heroic Obama-appointed District Court Judge Tonya Chutkan. 

On MSNBC's Jonathan Capehart show, they wildly speculated about a Rolling Stone report with anonymous sources alleging Trump wondered about whether he'd get a "Club Fed" prison or a "bad" prison. Legal analyst Glenn Kirschner imagined that Trump's alleged worries about jail demonstrates his "overwhelming consciousness of guilt."

Even though the various legal cases against Donald Trump are taking place in the obviously partisan environment of a presidential election, an examination of ABC, CBS and NBC evening news coverage finds the networks rarely identified even elected Democratic prosecutors as “Democrats.”

On Morning Joe, Willie Geist says that Trump lawyers John Eastman, Sidney Powell, and Rudy Giuliani make frequent TV appearances because they "crave" attention. Meanwhile, Geist himself is omnipresent on NBC and MSNBC, with eight different gigs.

On Morning Joe, MSNBC analyst Ken Dilanian, who had been a big promoter of the debunked Russian collusion conspiracy theory, accuses the Trump defense team in the January 6 trial before Judge Chutkan of harboring a "reality distortion field."

A new Media Research Center study finds the ABC, CBS and NBC evening newscasts focused 74% of their GOP campaign coverage on Donald Trump, with the remaining candidates forced to split the remaining airtime. Most TV coverage of Trump (90%) was negative, but the media also bashed his nearest challenger Ron DeSantis (78% negative).

Joe Scarborough, saying "innocent people don't do that," argued Friday that Donald Trump's attempt to push his federal trial related to January 6th back to 2026 is evidence of his awareness of guilt.

New York Times "democracy reporter" Nick Corasaniti adopted a vengeful tone in his report on Trump allies getting their legal comeuppance.
