CBS Only Highlights Ballot Initiative Victories by Liberals

November 8th, 2018 6:39 PM
As CBS informed viewers of a number of ballot initiatives that were passed in various states on Tuesday, both the CBS Evening News and the CBS This Morning on Wednesday only showed interest in cases in which liberals were victorious. By contrast, FNC's Special Report with Bret Baier and Fox and Friends gave attention to a mixture of both conservative and liberal victories.

Skin in the Game

November 7th, 2018 5:14 PM
In describing the GOP tax cuts, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said that they and bonuses American workers were getting were "crumbs." They were "tax cuts for the rich." Some argued that the tax cuts would reduce revenues. Pelosi predicted, "This thing will explode the deficit." How about some tax facts?

Tax and spend liberals are at it again. Although there were huge benefits to the 2017 tax cuts including a rise in take-home pay for a majority of American wage earners’ and hiring or investment expansions at hundreds of companies, many liberals are calling for tax hikes. Just don’t expect the networks to spell that out for voters.

Business
September 20th, 2018 3:30 PM
Amazon CEO and founder Jeff Bezos is now the world’s wealthiest man, and the liberal media love denouncing him for it. They’ve also started telling him what to do with his money and power now that he’s begun giving some of it away. Bezos is estimated to be worth $162 billion, and he and his wife announced on Sept. 13, they would give $2 billion to address homelessness and preschool education.

Democratic socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders has at least one media champion for his Stop BEZOS Act. The bill, which is obviously targeting CEO Jeff Bezos of Amazon, would levy a 100 percent tax on companies in the amount their employees receive in federal benefits.

Bad Men, Good Presidents

August 22nd, 2018 5:52 PM
With the continuing hysteria about Donald Trump's presidency, a few questions come to mind. The first: Can a bad man become a good president? The second: Does one's being a good man guarantee he'll be a good president? Third: Does having a good president require a good man? Is there any evidence of Lord Acton's argument that “great men are almost always bad men?”

MSNBC Moans: ‘More Tax Cuts for the Rich’

July 31st, 2018 5:17 PM
Journalists at MSNBC and the New York Times are very unhappy about the possibility of “more tax cuts for the rich.” MSNBC Live host Ali Velshi and writer Alan Rappeport on Tuesday lamented the possibility that capital gains taxes might soon be indexed for inflation, meaning someone who invested a million dollars in 1990 would soon pay about around $255,000 on the profit of a sale, instead of…

Press Parrots Agenda-Driven UN Report on Extreme Poverty in U.S.

June 23rd, 2018 5:38 PM
An obviously agenda-driven report on extreme poverty from the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights accuses the U.S. under the Trump administration of, in the UN group's words, "becoming a champion of inequality." It also claims that, because of its policies, "the American dream is rapidly becoming the American illusion." As one might expect, many the press have eagerly…

Seattle's $275-per-employee "Head Tax" (EHT), which was to be levied against every business with over $20 million in revenue, was repealed on Tuesday by a 7-2 City Council vote. City leaders' abrupt repeal occurred when it became obvious that a referendum effort would gather far more than enough signatures to qualify for the November ballot. In a 1 p.m. ET Associated Press dispatch published…

Snopes Hides Truth in 'Fact-Check' on California's Draconian Water Law

June 8th, 2018 3:48 PM
Snopes.com's so-called "fact checks" are so often inane — NewsBusters has caught it "fact-checking" an obviously satirical post — that it's tempting to dismiss it as irrelevant. That would be a mistake. It's therefore important to call sites like Snopes out when they play their deceptive "fact check" games. That's what the site's Bethania Palma definitely did in discussing a claim about…

AP on Record-Low Black Jobless Rate: 'Taking Chances' on the 'Ignored'

June 3rd, 2018 7:36 AM
In his coverage of Friday morning's stellar jobs report, the Associated Press's Chris Rugaber came up with a couple of doozies aimed at curbing readers' enthusiasm. The AP economics writer half-expected that employers would rein in their hiring over confrontational rhetoric President Donald Trump and other foreign leaders have recently engaged in over trade and tariffs. He also implausibly framed…

Capitalism vs. Socialism

May 30th, 2018 5:39 PM
Several recent polls, plus the popularity of Sen. Bernie Sanders, demonstrate that young people prefer socialism to free market capitalism. That, I believe, is a result of their ignorance and indoctrination during their school years, from kindergarten through college. For the most part, neither they nor many of their teachers and professors know what free market capitalism is.
