It's a sign of how well things are going for Donald Trump that instead of going after the man they most love to hate, Wedneday's Morning Joe spent most of the opening segment attacking the woman who endorsed him last night: Nikki Haley. The show opened with a clip of Stephen Colbert imagining Haley saying that she hates herself for endorsing Trump.  

Early Friday, the MSNBC hosts of The Weekend disrespected the was firefighter Corey Comperatore who lost his life in a shooting at Donald Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania. Democrat Symone Sanders described that the tribute to Comperatore at the RNC was a “prop” that “sickened” her.

Comedy Central’s The Daily Show took the air early Friday morning for a live reaction show to day four of the Republican National Convention. Host Jordan Klepper was not happy that Republicans are simultaneously claiming that God spared Donald Trump’s life on Saturday while continuing to reject gun control.

There were plenty of outrageous hot takes from MSNBC during the Republican National Convention, but Rachel Maddow might have had the dumbest. On Tuesday, Maddow saw alt-right and possibly Aryan messaging in VP-nominee JD Vance’s Lord of the Rings-inspired venture capital firm.

It was a week of ridiculing Republicans for the men of late night comedy. From Monday to Thursday, the comedians attacked Republicans as racist, cult-like drones and told more jokes about VP-nominee JD Vance in one week than they have about current VP Kamala Harris all year.

It’s a challenging task but we here at NewsBusters are going to try to sift through all the crazy, angry and ridiculous observations made by leftist journalists every night of the Republican National Convention coverage and pick one for Worst of the Night.

On Thursday, CNN Newsroom’s Jim Acosta hosted former advisor to Vice President Mike Pence, Olivia Troye. Troye, a faux conservative, praised the Democratic Party while describing Trump as a “used car salesman.”

When viewing MSNBC’s coverage of the Republican National Convention, one is led to wonder why leadership would sideline Morning Joe, albeit briefly, but not the insane asylum airing on prime-time. “Historian” Michael Beschloss’s assessment of President Trump’s acceptance speech only serves to intensify that wonderment.

Staunch Republicans may have loved President Trump's long speech on Thursday night, but it's easy to suspect that the journalists watching it were going to go beyond skeptical, like on PBS: "The initial calls for unity quickly gave way to attacks on Democrats, to a litany of falsehoods, to a string of insults."

On Morning Joe, MSNBC's Jonathan Lemire warns the MSM not to report Donald Trump's softer new tone. Says Lemire: "I do think we need a moratorium here in the media about Donald Trump's -- praising Donald Trump's new tone. That doesn't ever happen on this show, mind you."
