Twitter Censors Trump — AGAIN — for Contesting Election

November 16th, 2020 4:35 PM

Twitter has continued its censorious campaign against sitting President Donald Trump.

On Sunday evening Trump proclaimed, “I WON THE ELECTION!” denying that former Vice President Joe Biden had won the presidency. Twitter quickly retaliated by flagging his tweet with the statement: “Official sources called this election differently.” Twitter’s fact-check led to an events page declaring: “Joe Biden is the projected winner of the 2020 presidential election,” according to “projections by The Associated Press, NBC News and other news outlets.” This events page provided no mention whatsoever of the numerous legal challenges that may change the election’s outcome.

Trump’s posts were labeled in the following hours for numerous other statements, ranging from calling the 2020 presidential election “Most fraudulent Election in history” to sharing a clip discussing how Dominion voting machines could be hacked with the statement “Dominion is running our Election. Rigged!” Both of these posts were flagged by Twitter with a label that said: “This claim about election fraud is disputed.”

Twitter flagged other statements today as well. Twitter targeted Trump for condemning the greater liberal establishment for foul play: “The Radical Left Democrats, working with their partner, the Fake News Media, are trying to STEAL this Election. We won’t let them!” Trump also was punished for Tweeting: “Georgia won’t let us look at the all important signature match. Without that the recount is MEANINGLESS. Open up unconstitutional Consent Decree, NOW! @BrianKempGA.”

Censoring Trump’s tweets denying Biden’s victory and accusing the liberal establishment of rigging the election continues as Democratic leaders call for Trump to be suspended.

Representative David Cicilline (D-RI) declared that Trump’s Twitter account is “posting lies and misinformation at a breathtaking clip” and called Trump’s online presence a “threat to our democracy,” which “should be suspended until all the votes are counted.”

Representative Gerry Connolly (D-VA) had similar demands:

“Suspend his account, @Twitter. This is pure disinformation. Valid votes are being counted.

“This is America, not Russia.”

Overall, Twitter had censored Trump since May 31, 2018 at least 194 times, many of whom were in response to his posts criticizing mail-in ballots susceptibility to voter fraud.
