On Tuesday’s Morning Joe, the ever-present Joe Scarborough complained about Elon Musk’s political donations in the midterm election cycle and claimed conservatives only talked about George Soros’s campaign donation because “he is a Jew, that Republicans love to remind everybody is a Jew.” In the continued rant, Scarborough revived the Musk Nazi Salute hoax and claimed he was “a guy that does Heil Hitler salutes.”
Scarborough began and grumbled about Musk’s political spending in states like Maine and Texas, as he said, “The super rich are getting so much richer every second Donald Trump is in office. And obviously, that's one of the reasons why Elon Musk is spending up to $200 million, at least, to buy his senator in Texas. He's trying to buy a senator up in Maine. He's trying to buy his senator all over the place.”
He then questioned Musk’s spending versus Soros: “I saw a stat yesterday saying, I want to double-check it, that he's already spent more money in the last two years in campaigns than George Soros spent his entire lifetime. Is that correct?”

Geist then exclaimed, “Wall Street Journal reported yesterday that in the last two years, Elon Musk has spent $759 million on campaigns. In his lifetime, the great boogeyman for Republicans, George Soros, has spent $624 million.”
The information cited as if it came from the Wall Street Journal actually came from a post by Democratic operative Mike Nellis on X, which showed a graph on Musk versus Soros political donations, which claimed to use information from the WSJ.
Nevertheless, Scarborough tried to say Republicans were antisemitic for mentioning Soros's large political donations to Democrat-aligned groups:
So, the difference here is one is a Jew, that Republicans love to remind everybody is a Jew. And so, try to slur him that way.
Scabrorugh then revived the Musk Nazi Salute hoax from Trump’s second inauguration:
And the other is a guy that does Heil Hitler salutes and then claims he's not doing Heil Hitler salutes, but they certainly look like Heil Hitler salutes to the majority of Americans that watch what appear to be Heil Hitler salutes.
His wife and co-host Mika Brzezinski mentioned the Musk Starlink controversy in the midst of his answer and claimed Musk was a “guy now who also turns down Starlink speed to help an ex-KGB agent continue Russian invasion of a free people.”
Scarborough could not stop repeating himself, and was thankful that a picture of Musk at the 2025 inauguration did not pop up on the screen:
Elon Musk right there. That's the guy – Okay, that's not the Nazi salute. He's just waving there, thank god. But that's the guy right there that has spent more money in two years than George Soros has spent his entire lifetime in politics.
With a week left until the midterm elections, it seems Morning Joe still cannot stop their comparisons of everything they do not like to Nazis.
