Over the weekend, former President Trump went on his social media site to claim that he would be arrested on Tuesday, March 21, but the day came and went with no sign or movement against him. This annoyed the cast of ABC’s The View on Wednesday, as they whined about being duped and getting their hopes up to see him in cuffs and his mug shot.
“And I want to start this with this update. You-know-who is still at large,” Whoopi Goldberg begrudgingly announced near the top of the show.
Racist co-host Sunny Hostin snarked that “he hasn't been arrested like he predicted,” while Goldberg opined about how he’s been wrong about other claims such as the results of the 2020 election:
GOLDBERG: No. Well, you know – You kind of have to weigh it with all the other stuff he said. And you figure, well, you know, you said you won the election, you didn’t win.
HOSTIN: Good point.
GOLDBERG: You said they are going to arrest you. They didn’t arrest you.
HOSTIN: They didn’t.
“I said that to Joy. I go, Why would we start believing him now?’” quipped co-host Sara Haines. To which Joy Behar added: “We don’t. He manipulated everybody. We all rose to the occasion, the papers, everybody just went there.”
“So many people were excited,” Hostin lamented.
They proceeded to go back and forth about how much of a liar Trump was until they got distracted by Behar’s bright pink blazer and blouse:
BEHAR: He’s a liar.

BEHAR: He’s a liar.
GOLDBERG: Are you shocked?
BEHAR: No. It annoys me every time.
GOLDBERG: I know. I know. But you’re very sorbet-y and I just want to lick your shoulders.
They also got distracted by Hostin’s dress, which Behar suggested looked like an ear of corn with Peyronie’s disease. Hostin claimed it was an anthurium plant.
On Monday, they trumpeted Trump’s arrest prediction. “On Saturday, you-know-who claimed on social media he will be arrested tomorrow by the Manhattan DA on charges he paid hush money to Stormy Daniels to benefit his campaign,” Goldberg announced in a booming voice, receiving cheers from the liberal audience.
“Look, I think the severity matters a little less than how easy it's going to prove,” Hostin bragged about Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg’s chances of finding Trump guilty. “…[I]f we're talking about 10 business records or 20 business records, that's six months a pop, and a judge could ask you to serve them consecutively…”
